Pets Corner
Welcome to pets corner where you can tell us about your pets.
I currently have no pets, however, throughout my life I have had the following pets (in the family, not all were necessarily mine)
4 Cats: Jenny (died c. 1987), Samwise (died 1997), Pippin (died 2004), Parsley (status unknown)
2 Dogs: Lessa (died 1999), Toffee (status unknown)
15 fish: All dead
1 Hamster: Jasper (died in mysterious circumstances 1996)
1 Sheep: Squeal (status unknown, presumably dead)

Re: Pets Corner
We've had
3 dogs (Nicky, wire-haired dachshund died after we moved back to Europe when I was 5, Ginny, westie, passed away with 4 due to heart failure and Harry, westie, lived to be 17 years old until we had to put him down for getting too old)
4 birds (can't recall the names but they all died in a massacre involving a friend's cat and a wobbly cage)
4 mice (forgot the names, too but they died of natural causes one by one)
1 hamster (Goldie, died only about a year after we got her)
and 1 cat (Tommy, half-angora, 13 years old and still scratching)

Re: Pets Corner
I haven't had many pets.
Current:
Taldar, 6 month Bengal Tiger. (Panthera Tigris Tigris) He's male and he is one hyper kitteh :3 He is also insanely strong.
Luna, 2 year old Wolf. (Canis Lupus) She is my heart, while Taldar is my soul. I cannot live without either of them. She is significantly braver than Taldar, and she's even put me in my place, a number of times!
past:
I'd rather not mention my past animals. It hurts me so much, I wish to forget.

Re: Pets Corner
Yay, my sort of thread
well, past (a sad thing to put):
Extreme amounts of fish, from george the shark (my first goldfish) to all my others... Had to get rid of my tank though.
Numerous hamsters: polly, holly, cloud, toffee, fudge, hercules.
My cat, Tubs, died 1995.
Fella (my little lancaster heeler I had from age 7, died 2000 )
Two nose, another cat, who is still alive but living with my gran since the cat killers next door made him a neurotic mess...
Kelsie, our german shepherd, who is dearly missed and died only a year ago.
Stick insects, status unknown, possibly bird lunch.
Giant african landsnails, dead due to age.
Pink Toe tarantula, also dead due to age.
My current pets:
Lola, (well she's my mums) a collie X shep, only a puppy still!
Max, our rescue, he's a shep X husky
Ruby, my jack russel
Fidget, my hamster
Indie, my cat
and Cornelius my Corn Snake
Yep, that's it for me at the moment. Might post some piccies if I get the chance

Wow! many pets! i want to buy me a tarantula, is it hard to have it as a pet?

Yip, I do. They be my best companions in this world.
^^ They're just big versions of the average cat and dog ^^
Tarantulas are easy to maintain, but be careful which ones you get. A tarantula can get nasty.

No, not really. Depending on the type, you have a suitable terrarium and either vermiculite or aspen and then just somthing for it to hide under if it's terrestrial or somthing for it to hide up if its aboreal. Some species need a heat mat under the tank or on the side to keep a good temperature.
Then just put a shallow dish with some wet cottonwool in for water, change it each day. Keep some small brown crickets and feed it a couple a week. It will moult occasionally so don't feed it or disturb it then, just mist the enclosure a tiny bit. Thats about it.
Some good starters are, mexican red knee, pink toe, zebra and chile rose.
(I work at an exotic pet place so yeah... )

No kidding.
Tiger/Wolf License, Luna and Taldar collectively cost over two grand (My family has been saving up quite a while for these guys.)
Well worth the money though. I could not imagine living without them.

Re: Pets Corner
Ma kitty! Havent posted it as an image the photo is rather large! Was taken when I first got him, so he has lost a bit of that kittenish look, but he is still sweet :3 Here he was hanging out of a window, watching the resident cats and thinking, oh noes... I literally just stuck the camera out of the other window and hoped for the best, truly a lucky shot!
