That´s what we were taught but never really understood why.
Been having a look at some websites and all accepted plural.

Er is 75 Kilo schwer. - He weighs 75 kilos.
I can't tell in Portuguese, though.

Well, my dad is 5' 11", and he was 5' 6" when he was in my grade.
I have a hope for at least 5 more inches.
It also helps that my mom is 6 foot and some of my uncles are 6' 5" or taller

People aren't that tall in Portugal. And I was usually the shortest of my friends.
