Cheats, glitches and easter eggs

Almost all games have at least one interesting cheat, glitch or Easter egg.

What are some that stands out for you?

Here are some of mine:

Cheats
Age of empires
E=MC2 TROOPER - Gives you a tropper that shoots nuclear bombs. One of the first cheats I ever used on a game.

Age of Mythology
WUV WOO- Gives you a flying purple hippo. When it moves, there is a rainbow trail behind it and it attacks by shooting hearts. About as awesome as a game unit can get.
BAWK BAWK BOOM- Gives you a chicken meteor strike. Pretty self explanatory, awesome.

The Force Unleashed
SOHNDANN- unlocks all costumes. The costumes in the force unleashed are awesome e.g Darth Maul, but its a pain in the arse to find all the holocrons for them, so nice to have a short cut. I'm not a completionist, so It doesn't matter me that I didn't get legitimately.

Glitches
GTA 4 - Swing car fling glitch. Works best in multiplayer as you don't get flung out of the car in multiplayer. The swing, glitches and launches cars half way across the map.




Easter Egg
Halo 2
The Scarab Gun. I managed to get it the one time. Pain to get, but really fun to use. Massively over powered.

Saints Row 2
Giant easter bunny- really random, but cute. You have to go through a long process, but at the end a bunny floats up from the ocean and its huge.

I'm guessing it doesn't work on AOE3.

There are a load in GTA series. In San Andreas there is building where you can watch a succession of people jumping off a tall building to their deaths.

What a nice game.

Super Meat Boy has loads.
If you use 'petaphile' on the character selection screen, you play as Super Tofu Boy, PETA's parody of Meat Boy. He can't jump high and he runs super slow.

Portal 2 has a hidden turret choir on level 16.

This one also relates to Portal 2's ending.

I don't actually remember that cheat, but your right GTA has a ton of cool cheats.

And on the topic of GTA, GTA 4 has one of the cooler easter eggs in a game. The Beating heart of the Happiness island statue is probably one of the more interesting easter eggs I've see.

Although between GTA and Saint's Row, I'd say Saint's Row (in particular, sain't row 2) has a lot more cool easter eggs and cheats. One of my favourite cheats is one where all cars driving around try to kill you. Along with the Low gravity cheat, I could waste hours plying it.

I remember that the old PC game, Black and White had a few easter eggs.

There was an island with a giant smiley face, an island with a god sized bowling alley and an island with a telephone on it, with which your little angel and demon wiould have an argument through.

The game was full of interesting surprises like that though, just through playing around with the objects on the maps. It was also really easy to hack, like unlocking the secret creatures and changing the amount of objects that spawn and so on.

There are some nice touches in GTA 3 that I remember. All regarding the sea around the city.

In various parts of the sea (remember, you cannot swim in GTA 3) there are the following (off the top of my head)

- A submerged Submarine (in GTA 4 and I think San Andreas there is a submarine in one of the docks)
- A large shipwreck
- A Great White Shark
- Leatherback Turtles
- A corpse wearing concrete boots
- Several small shipwrecked craft

There are also some aesthetic cheats for GTA 3, San Andreas and 4 that are pretty cool. These include (off the top of my head)

- Make all the women follow you
- Your character starts smoking ( a cigarette)
- Turn all pedestrians into Elvis
- All pedestrians wear beachwear
- All vehicles turn pink
- All vehicles become a set of wheels only (you cannot see the vehicle at all, just the wheels

I can't think of any others at the moment. I must try and remember some of those from other game series

And the better question Shadow is why wouldn't you want all pink vehicle?

Agreed, people are weird, now if that cheat was for BLACK vehicles then i would do it but pink has no chance at all.

I suspect there may be such cheats, just unpublished the creators or undiscovered by those who have no life other than finding cheats in games.

I wonder if there are any cool ones for DarkSpore, I was just wondering if they got the "cheats" that Spore has that are aesthetic (y'know, the one that makes Spore look like a movie from the 1950's), or allow you to remove backgrounds and menus in the editor?

There's one part of GTA San Andreas, where due to riots, people getting mad (as part of the storyline) Los Santos gets into a totally chaotic zone. People fighting eachother, cars on fire, smokes all over. I used to get dressed up in a suit and sunglasses, hire up loads of gangmembers and just walk the streets.

Bound to be, after all cheats exist for every game ever created. You have a lot of time on your hands. Try and find some.

I loved that part of the game, I purposely saved at that point, and when I next saved, I used a new slot, it such an epic part of the game.

Every game has cheats built in by the makers for testing purposes, sometimes the maker removes them altogether, sometimes they just remove some of them and sometimes they leave them all in. As to how they get known, I can only imagine the maker leaks them and sometimes people stumble upon them.

In tekken, I think 3, there were silly cheats, like making your characters head epicly big. Was funny to headlock someone with the cheat running.

There was also a load of interesting cheats in wipeout for PS1. Including turning your ship into a shark, a bumblebee or a flying pig with a minigun
