3. 1/2 teaspoon of vanillia extract.
4. 8 oz of Caster Sugar.

I can make (as my family calls it) Gourmet Grilled Cheese. I don't think it's that bad myself, but I wouldn't cal lit "gourmet" yet Laughing

1.) Get bread.
2.) Butter both sides.
3.) Add double cheese.
4.) Add bacon.
5.) Sandwich.
6.) Butter the pan.
7.) Fry on medium heat, to get the inside gooey and the outside crunchy.
8.) Flip over several times.
9.) Optional, add vegetables or anything else (tomatoes, broccoli, etc.)

A Chocoholic's Brownies

Ingredients:
1 cup (or 2 sticks) Butter
2 cups Sugar
4 tablespoons of Vanilla Extract (Yes, 4. Quit staring at me.)
4 Eggs, beaten to a pulp!
3/4 cup Cocoa or (Dark Cocoa tastes horrible...)
1 cup Flour
1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
2 cup Chocolate Chips

You basically just add in the ingredients one at a time, and in the order that they're listed. I usually use a 13x9 pan for this. Just don't add in the Chocolate Chips. You can pour them over the mixture when it's baked so you can melt them into a nice topping.

They also have a strange after taste, which is why people usually have another, and another, and so on so forth. Unsure

Uber Necro Surprised

Anyway, wanted to raise this from the depths to ask a question.

My dad bought me a tub of Smash (powdered Mash Potato) after my Dental Surgery because it is a soft food. Just wondering if anyone knows how to make it taste nice.

As instructed tastes disgusting.
It does not fry very well, in fact it collapses.
Tried grilling and roasting and the surface are crusted up and tasted slightly better, but inside it was still disgusting.

I'd add a little bit of cream, whip it up a bit and then season it with some pepper?
That might give it a better texture? Razz

You can also prepare some greek yoghurt sauce (the greek yoghurt, a hint of lemon juice, some spices, a couple of herbs) and then use it to flavour up the mashed potatoes. I think that'd be tasty. :d

Ooh Ark getting all technical. Sounds nice, although I doubt I'd want to brave the smash.

If it were me I'd just overload it with pepper. But that's me and I'm lazy with food, not to mention I coat everything with pepper.

A better option might be to mix it up replacing some of the water you use with cream, as ben suggested. Id add a little seasoning. As Andeavor said, Nutmeg is nice, but you could use salt and pepper, a very very small amount of cayene pepper, chives or even rosmary or somthing depending on what you are putting it with.

You could also try softening up some onions in butter and mixing them in, perhaps adding some cheese to the mix and frying/pan cook to make a sort of fritter thing. I don't know if it'd work but I assume so.

Failing that, get a cardboard cut out of the robots and use it as ammo.

Like the ammo idea Smile

I might try adding Garlic and Mustard, perhaps Ginger and Coriander. The texture is pretty unpleasant for me no matter how weak or dens I make it, I am not a Mashed Potato fan in general anyway.

All else fails, I could throw it away.

You could also try adding mashed up carrots or broccoli. My mom used to make us mashed potatoes and carrots mixed together whenever we were sick. We called it our baby food (which it essentially is).

And for the disgusting variant, put it in a blender with some chopped up meat and veggies and make yourself a dinner smoothie. none

The only variant of mashed potatoes that tastes good, is the one in which you mash the potatoes yourself.
This is how I do it:

Boil the potatoes, pouring the water away as usual.
Start massacring them with an electric whisk.
Apply an arbitrary amount of milk. The whisk is still doing its job.
Add some spices that you happen to have around. Whisky, whisky dwarf.
When it has the texture you prefer, you're done.

Ugh dinner smoothie, that actually made my tummy do a little flip. I wish to be rid of this image now.

I hate making mash from scratch. I do, but we lack an electric whisk so we do it by hand, with a masher. It usually produces some lumps and bumps when I do it, so I try to avoid it Laughing

You could try making some tapioca or couscous Vek, I think that would be pretty soft and it tastes good with loads of stuff. If you like that sort of thing though.

Yesterday, I made a hamburger and some fries, today I'm having meatballs with potato cubes.

Am I being lazy or creative?
