Hey eveybody, most of you won't even give a **** about this but I'll say it anyways.

Todays my first day of 8th grade. I've been hearin people say that my science teacher is the worst teacher in the whole school. There's also a teacher of my team that looks like Jesus Laughing

I have a question though: If your older than me, how was 8th grade for you?

But since I do have school now I will be on very little each day

I'm still ill so I miss the first few days. 8th grade? Dunno what that is in UK standards. Is it Y9 (13 year olds) or Y10 (14 year olds)? Because I'm starting Y10 now. Things will be confusing *prays we don't get any hw in the first week* Why? It'll take me ages to find out what we've been sets. We're put into loads of different sets :/

8th grade was alright. (Don´t know if it´s similar where you are) Just take things easily, be polite and do your best.

The years that usually cause more impact, at least here in Portugal, are:

1st Grade (First year)
5th Grade (Usually new subjects, teachers and sometimes new school)
7th Grade (New Teachers and New subjects)
10th Grade (Highschool - New Everything, usually)
12th Grade (Last year of Highschool)
University

So by those standards, 8th was kinda nice, easy going. Good luck to you.

Like Trickatel, I can't exactly say, not sure australia's system is the exact same, but my 8th grade of school was fine. I had a maths teacher, everyone said was THE WORST MATH TEACHER IN THE SCHOOL. i think it was an over statement, he was an angry guy for sure, but he wanted the best for his students.

I´m in year 7 and I am 13. 14 before this grade is over. Laughing



We got new stuff, and new subjects. Physics, Biology and Chemistry. Ack.


The only thing I fear is Physics, and well, math. -.-

On the other hand, I seem to be getting a bit more responsible. For some odd reason I WANT homework. I WANT to get my bag ready for the next day after I finish homework. I CAN get ready faster now. And most of all.


I can have BREAKFAST.

I remember I hated it when I was younger. But one must try and see homework as a way to train in order to become wiser, and not as something boring ^^´

@Kyle - Yep. Once you reach highschool, you´ll start thinking about how it wasn´t so bad in the previous school Razz But that´s also because people grow and become more mature.

Our school system is weird. You go to the same school from y1 to y8, and then you go to highschool. y7 and y8 are quite important for getting into a good highschool Dx

School systems really vary between countries. For example, I'm 16 and am starting college (finished school and year 11) where as some of my American friends are 18 and still have 1 or 2 years left.

Anyway, it's hard for me to remember the previous years. The only years I really remember is 11, a bit of 10, and parts of 7.

Good teachers are what help you get inspiration in honest opinion. Without my latest history teacher, I would've thought of history as a dull and stupid subject. But now I want to be a historian/archeologist when I'm older, so see what the difference is Wink

I had the worst Math teacher ever when I was in 8th grade. I think her name was Miss Anslow. I was in a 7/8 split at the time, which made it worse because they wouldn't stop yelling at the 7th grades for acting like idiots. It's not their fault their idiots, because that was a 9th grade study level. And what made it worse was that everything was in French, so you had almost no idea what the questions were asking you. You'd often fall asleep while catching up on your work. That's how hard it was.

Just think of that and thank your Gods that you don't have Miss Anslow. Laughing
