Sweet! I love zoo tycoon. I downloaded mine though....

I used to go in the sandbox mode and fill it to the brim. My computer isn't that great so it couldn't handle it heh.

It's broken now though I might buy the real game eventually.

I got the Ultimate ZT2 quite cheap.

Idk. Possibly. I think the MM animal files were unmeshable, so now models couldn't be made (though one group found the trick to opening the files, but I don't think they told anyone). Still, there might be somewhere. Alot of those forums tend to have "exclusives" to try and draw people in. I don't know about any of the others, but I don't mind checking the download section on Environ and seeing if there is anything.

...Though in the meantime, IIRC, its actually possible to download all the demos and merge them. That would give you something like four maps and around 20 animals and stuff. Personally I am trying to see if I can get my MM demo files to work in my main game (though my friend has done it, so I know its possible).

Latest download for me: DM's Lexovisaurus. Which is awesome. Not to mention a fine example of how the quality of ZT2 designing has improved over the years.


And I finally came across the rare but cool-looking black T. rex variant.

^ So glad this isn't a ZT2 forum, or I'd probably have people all over it. lol.

And I think my Triceratops is now seriously screwed. lol. It shows up as invisible and placing it crashes the game. Shame I don't know anyone who knows much about coding. Some of my buddies are designers, but they are pretty much skinners and meshers.

I am quite annoyed at some of the creatures not in ZT2 Complete. Apart from several sharks, the Siberian Tiger (which I know you can download). I wonder why they dropped some of the animals from ZT1.

Cool lex, and Occasionally you get a White Bengal Tiger when you adopt Bengals or breed them.

I hate keeping guests happy, I just want a zoo....

The problem is, ZT2 seems dead now.

ZT2 is not an MMORPG or even a game like Spore that is designed for sharing everything and anything. How can it be dead? How do you not know that hundreds and thousands of people are still happily playing it?

The company may have moved on to other things but some of the communities are still alive and kicking. There is even a user-created remake in the process, which is going to re-skin everything in the game - including the UI

ZT2 doesn't seem that played anymore.

In my list of favorite games, this is about 3 or 4, does anybody know if this game has a Mac compatible version?

I remember the fun times I had with this game...

I made a small guest viewing area, and made the rest of the zoo onlly for the animals. I bought Zoo Tycoon 2: Ultimate Collection. I also had the first one with all expansions.

ZT2 Rex was nerfed though. It looked extremely smaller compared to the ZT1 Rex.

I will no doubt get round to playing ZT2 again.

Is ZT2 compatible with Windows 7? I really want to boot it up on my laptop, but I'm not sure if it's compatible.

@Crazy: Only the base game of Zoo Tycoon 2 is available for Mac as far as I know.

@Cyclone: I think it should be compatible with Win7, if you run into trouble though, you can run it in WinXP compatible mode. I would test it myself but I currently have too little space to install it.

meh, i might as well try installing it. A few years ago, 4 gig worth of hard drive wasn't worth it. Now ive got so much hard drive it aint funny.

It does run on Windows 7 - I used to have it on my laptop, but due to performance issues (on the machine generally) and me no longer playing it I removed it.

I downloaded this game a long time ago. I usually overloaded all of my games so much that it was so laggy too with so many animals and details. I might just buy the game eventually. I wish steam had these games.
