Holograms already exist, believe it or not.

Prototypes.

I'm having a bit of a hard time following that concept, Tyranno. Watching a movie - no matter the dimension - leaves you in one place, even if you could manipulate time around the viewer, you still would be sitting in the same spot watching the movie.

Or am I not seeing the image clearly? scratch

Actually, they don't. Those are just projections onto dense air or water (which mimics as surface), which is not really what many consider a hologram to be.

Actually, it's just that you get moved through time, but not through space itself.

Thomas- Ah. Well, they do look like holograms.

Or on a cheaper scale an optical illusion.

They look good, but they still haven't overcome the need for a surface as of yet. But that problem should be solved in about 20 years or so.

I did see a prototype hologramo-type device using lasers to prject a 3D image on to a spinning surface.
