Hotmail blocked my account

This morning I woke up to the most peculiar of things; Hotmail blocked my account.

When I had my old password, my account got frequently 'hacked' and sent out quite a lot of spam messages. A few months ago, I changed my password and haven't had a spam problem since. Oddly enough, that is one of the main reasons they now blocked my account, which they never did before. I did send them some verification details in the hope they recognize me as the owner and unblock the damn thing. I do most of my internet correspondence and forum activity through that email and if I can't access my account, I can't access my contact list.

Well that sounds painfully annoying. That actually might explain something that happened to me. About a year ago, the old hotmail account I used to use stopped working. According to hotmail it not longer existed. Was annoying as I had more than a couple things linked to that email that required me to use my email to login.

@Remi: I believe Hotmail suspends and then deletes unused accounts after three months of inactivity, however, I use both accounts on a daily or weekly basis.

I was able to reset my password after they unlocked it not too long ago but my email program is rejecting the new password.

And now the program won't accept the alternative hotmail account's password.

What. Is. Going. On?

oh. But thats strange, I did use that email quite regularly as it was my primary email account ehh. Its a mystery I'll never solve.

And that sucks even further. What email program do you use?

I'm using Mail 4.5 for Mac. It can access the other account but it's still having trouble with the new password.

I am currently migrating my mail from my old gmail account to a new set of accounts on vektrix.co.uk.

I use gmail anyway, and it allows use of multiple email addresses under different domains.

I would change to a different account andeavor. Preferably not hotmail or live. They have had a huge issue with the password and spam stuff but perhaps most worrying is if the hotmail account is inactive for 6 months, they give it to someone else.

Its because they are running out of desirable unique names. But its frustrating if you use it for log ins, like I do. It also breaches your safety to a point, because although the account is fresh for the new person, the name is not and your stuff is likely to be sent to them.

I've been using Hotmail since I went off my original internet provider in the late 90s and have done pretty much all of my internet correspondence through there. Changing it now will be such a pain.

In other news, things are back to normal. I changed the password again after finding out that using the max digits causes the log in to glitch in my mail program.

Yeah, my hotmail account has pretty much everything on it, I havent really changed any of the stuff because itd be a huuuuge pain to do so, so I get where you are coming from there!
