Mac OS X Lion
I downloaded and installed Lion yesterday without a hitch. I've yet to find something wrong with it. It's mostly the same as Snow Leopard with some slight visual and practical changes.
- You can switch between users directly from the top bar
- Full-screen apps
- Resume apps (pick up where you left off even after a reboot)
- Natural Scrolling (it simulates the touchscreen effect moving with the screen/app but can be reversed)
- Auto-save and Versions (revert to an older copy or make side-by-side comparisons)
- AirDrop feature (to exchange files and apps between computers more quickly)
- More trackpad gestures (move from one full-screen app to the next)
- New Mail app (combines all mails from the same address)
There are many more improvements and small additions, which you can check out here. You can only buy it from the Mac App store for only $30, €24 or £21, respectively. Unless you get a new Mac, then it's included. The digital download can be installed on every authorized Mac with your apple ID.
I know, it sounds like I'm advertising here but I just wanted to share this with you. It's the highlight of my week.

I'm not buying it just yet, i'm going to wait a little bit to install it, as from the reviews i've read it doesn't appear to run time machine :S So yeah i'm going to wait a week i think, as apple do update pretty regularly, and very regularly if it's a new product

I'm not sure whether I should buy it or not. I'm currently running Snow Leopard and its ok. I have the money to buy it and I'm not really saving up for anything or have anything else in mind. Would it be worth it in the long run to get it?

It's definitely worth it. One of the best things I find are the resume option to continue where you left off despite a shut down or reboot and that you can now resize windows from any side.
There's also a slight redesign in some areas like the sidebar in the finder or the overal buttons, which have a similar shape to the EuroSpore buttons...

I think I will get it, of course I should probably wait like a month for my birthday to come around.

Rule.
The only problem I have with them is that several games I like cannot run on Macs. :/

I'm going into the apple store tomorrow, they said i can use their wi-fi to download Lion as my home broadband is a bit useless.
I sure hope they fix the issues with time machine soon though

I haven't used Time Machine since my Time Capsule turned into a brick last year. I now backup only the personal files (which are being worked on), the rest is stored with Mobile Me soon-to-be iCloud.
