NEWS: Steve Jobs Passed Away

Steve Jobs
1955-2011

Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.

Two days ago Apple revealed the much anticipated revised iPhone 4S and people have noticed that something was not quite right watching the keynote and it wasn't the missing iPhone 5. It was well known that Steve was suffering from pancreatic cancer and despite some successful treatment in the past it got the better of him. It's not fun having to face the already judgmental crowd knowing your friend and colleague is about to die, but despite that Tim Cook has done well.

Whoever said being the the midst of history playing out gives you a great feeling, is a twit. It feels more like a slap in the face.

I saw this last night. It's such an incredibly sad thing for him to die. He definitely changed how we interact with each other and the world.

Rest in peace Steve. Like or dislike Apple products its impossible to deny the impact they've had on modern culture, in particular the ipod and iphone.

Disliked his products, and as such, I held a feint dislike to him. However, he was an innovator, and I dare say without him, we would be less well off technologically. He shall be missed, even by his detractors.
