Re: Your OS?
Laptop = Windows 7 since October (I bet I have had 7 the longest of anyone on this forum)
Desktops both have XP but I want to upgrade one to 7, my other desktop struggles with the concept of being used, so I am gonna rip it apart and spread the parts around.

Mac OS X Leopard, and I was trying to find a store near me to get the upgrade but unholy powers have something against me again.

Leopard isn't that bad. After all, you can install windows XP, Vista or 7 on it if you have bootcamp That's what I done anyway. Non existant Mac gaming= NO from me.

Re: Your OS?
Since VALVe is releasing Steam for Mac they're encouraging other devs to include Mac, too, making bootcamp irrelevant.NGC wrote:Andeavor wrote:Mac OS X Leopard, and I was trying to find a store near me to get the upgrade but unholy powers have something against me again.

I need the upgrade for some newer games that somehow only run on SL.

I know about the Steam thing. Quite a good idea, but if I remember correctly my tech uncle has told me that you can't change mac hardware with much and default mac settings are horrible for gaming; I've tried to play Avatar the game which runs on the Farcry 2 engine, it sucked since everything was on low and if I changed it it lagged horribly. So.

Re: Your OS?
I'm not familiar with the various engines but the reason most games have lag on a Mac even with a native built is because of a lack of experts in Mac game programming, plus if they just run it through Cider/WINE they're bound to run into limitations.
Valve is hoping to break that cycle.

Old Laptop: Windows XP
iBook (my other laptop): Mac OS X (Snow Leopard).
My Mac is way more powerful than my PC, and is the computer I use more often these days. I'd probably get rid of my other laptop except it has too many important things on it, and it runs Flash applications way faster (thats the one thing I don't like about my Mac; how laggy things using Flash are).

I can give examples, ranging from ridiculous amounts of incompatibility with even the most recent software throught to connectivity, security and changing of features to a completely different and less intuitive style.
Re: Your OS?
Lets see...I got a laptop, PC, mac, another PC, a very small work laptop, and a BBS (Bulletin Board System) that's similar to a faxing machine.
Re: Your OS?

Well I used to have an xp, still do actually, my other computers an xp, yeah it took alittle getting used to the new system but I didn't find it that difficult. Plus I haven't had many if any issues with connectivety or security
