Space Stage wont load

I decided to play Spore *SHOCK* and went ahead to start in the space stage. It's not loading. I've tried 3 times now, 3rd time offline, and it wont get past the loading page and into the game.

I would go through the civilization stage and go on from there, but I can only start in tribe, and screw playing through that awful stage...

Any thoughts?

First of all is the disc scratched?

I don't think so - It's always been in either the case or the computer, looked after properly.

I got that thing from EA, I'm not gonna let it get damaged D:

Hm.... when that happend to me, I gave my disc a good clean and then inserting it in three times till it finally worked. Did you tried something like that already?
