Re: Discuss Gaming here
Aw man, Ship and Track Creators would just be a dream come true. I spend a lot of time in editors if a game has one... Pro Evolution Soccer editor time for 2010 and 2011 combined is 5 days I hate to imagine how much time I have spent in Spore editors

Re: Discuss Gaming here
I decided to try out some free FPSs for the computer today. Only two, though, as that is all I could fit in.
One of them (Paintball 2) is still in development, but it is still a very fun game, IMO. Controls are anything but complicated. To be honest, it is a very bare-bones control system at the moment, making it a good game for people new to computer gaming. also, me being a twitchy mess when I play games, can't really lock into the target I'm shooting at if I have to shoot more than once. This whole game is centered around one-shot one-kill gameplay. Maybe a downside for some, but I love it. It at least gives me a fighting chance in the games. But moving on, the graphics in the game are rather low quality at the moment, which is to be understood for a game still in testing. On the site, it says a high-res texture pack is halfway done, so a boost in graphics quality is expected. The guns fire realistically, meaning the paintballs only go so far before falling, underwater shots go practically no where at no speed, and you need CO2 to be able to fire. Your CO2 runs out with every shot, and more is available along the courses. For a game in development, I give it a 9/10. I can't wait to see the finished product.
War Rock, on the other hand, I can't speak as much or as highly about. It is a much more in-depth shooter, not meant for beginners to computer gaming really. With that said, the in-game chat is almost worse than the Sporum. There are people constantly spamming it up with just laying on the keyboard and pressing enter, and then there are those who constantly complain of people cheating and hacking to get good at the game, wanting them kicked from the match, when they fail to realize that some people are just good (Lv. 40 vs. Lv. 9). That immediately turned me off, as I love to use chat to talk strategy with my team. Having it loaded with crap kills it, making t practically unplayable for me. But the gameplay otherwise is brilliant. I just don't like the temporary weapons. You have to buy weapons to only be able to use them for so long, often less than a few days. You then have to rebuy it. Or just buy a load of time on the weapon. 6/10

Motorstorm Apocalypse demo
I downloaded it yesterday, played it this morning. My reaction was: "OMGWTFLOLBBQROFLZOMG" bearing in mind how EPIC it is. Unlike it's two predeccessors, the crashes are realistic. You DON'T have every body panel torn off your car, you simply lose a few parts.....then explode in a ball of fire, destroying anything nearby. I can't really review it, bearing in mind I only played one track with two of the thirteen classes of vehicle, but I'll say this:
I MUST get this game. It's epic.

Re: Discuss Gaming here
Installing it now, see what the Demo has to offer. if any good, my dad has a new idea for my birthday
EDIT: Interesting, certainly action-packed and exciting, not sure of any longevity value though.
EDIT2: Ok, crossing the line on a superbike ON FIRE just .01 of a second behind the winner was quite epic.

Re: Discuss Gaming here
Trust me, if it's anything like MS2, that demo was NOTHING compared to the retail version. There's an insanely addictive campaing, Wreckreation (freestyle races), online, garage AND the new vehicle editors.
13 classes of vehicle, around 6 vehicles or more per class, normally about 10 tracks, and with MS2 there were two track packs and a new game mode pack, along with free vehicle packs

Re: Discuss Gaming here
Is it too much to ask for a racing game with vehicle and track creators with realistic graphics?
Re: Discuss Gaming here
Dunno. I guess MotorStorm has realistic graphics, and you can pretty much fully customise your vehicle collection, but I think with the amount of environmental detail in tracks nowadays kinda makes track editors either obselete or impossible to execute

Re: Discuss Gaming here
I had a look at Portal 2 yesterday in Game, seems a bit scientific, so I might see if I can find a demo.
Have fun Marky... I have not reached a decision on the game yet.

Re: Discuss Gaming here
The demo was incomplete. I'm pretty sure of it. The fire wasn't right, and they had all but removed the physics.
Here's what it should be like in the retail version, if MotorStorm Pacific Rift was anything to go by

Re: Discuss Gaming here
Wow, I love motor storm much. Looks like they have improved it in this version alot.
I used to get really annoyed at the slo mo crashes where you just had stuff flying everywhere. It's like, 'Yes I crashed, can I get back to the game now...'
But this looks like fun to watch

I'm extremely jealous right now sjhorm. I will have to buy it sometime, I am glad that it came out on PS3, so that way my computer has more space for other games.

Yeah, I only have my computer and my wii for gaming, so I got it for PC.
But it's really cool. Wheatley is cool.
The only thing I'm disappointed in is that there's a robot store. -___- Mann Co. all over again

Got Portal (Original) yesterday.
Just finished it. Too easy IMO, and to short. Portal 2 any better?
moving on to advanced maps now, though.

Re: Discuss Gaming here
"Portal was so short because it was a trial," Lombardi told the mag. "We paired it with [Half-Life 2] Episode 2 and Team Fortress 2, which were recognisable and safe. Then we had this Portal thing, and we had no idea if people would dig it, even though we thought it was a cool idea.
"So it was put out their safely in The Orange Box, and the result came back wilder than we could have ever imagined," he added, referencing the huge cult following that followed Portal's 2007 release.
"We knew we had to double down and give them more. Portal was a test bed. Portal 2 is a game."

Oops, did not realize that. I was never much into it, so I never cared to read up on it.
Thanks for the info, though.
