Re: Fallout Discussion Topic
Maybe I wasn´t clear with my previous post, so sorry!
What I meant is, I only play my Characters on Hardcore mode, as it makes the game more interesting and motivating to me.
Only I don´t think the term should be Hardcore, because it´s not really hard - Should be called Realistic instead.

Yeah I agree that naming it hardcore was a mistake and it should be called realistic, and I think that the mode was one of the best additions to NV from 3.

Finally got around to Dead Money. Having a good time with it. A little creepy and interesting.

Have freed Dog/God and am currently trying to free the other two. I'm using God instead of Dog, as I prefer a more sane persona with me.

Hardcore mode exists in Fallout 3.

Re: Fallout Discussion Topic
Some more info about Dead Money, although I really didn't get to play since last I wrote here due to University works:
---
I've continued siding with the Legion and it's being all right. I kind of like Caesar, although sometimes he totally goes over the edge.
---
Does anyone even gamble or play Caravan in New Vegas?
I tried Caravan a few times but, after not understanding it, quickly dropped it. I haven´t purchased any gaming chips because the casino gambling doesn´t appeal me at all.
I did play a card game with Festus and won, though, lol.
- Spoiler:
- It reminds me of Saw. The Courier is made unconscious and brought to an abandoned village, haunted by creeps and whatnot, with traps here and there. One also starts off with an explosive collar around the neck that can be set off by radio frequencies and has to obey the man who captured. Pretty interesting so far.

- I wasn't expecting to return to Helios One and (since I overloaded the place and killed the NCR) finding Fantastic dressed up as Legion and saying: "Hey, when in Rome..." lol

Hardcore mode exists in Fallout 3.
- Spoiler:
- Yes DM is like Saw, it was one of the first thing I noticed and was one of the most prominent parts of the DLC
I occasionally gamble, mostly since I can get my luck stat up to 9 using clothing items and I had an implant. With a high enough luck it can actually become quite profitable.

Re: Fallout Discussion Topic
New poll is up.
Although I liked Fallout's 3 impact better than Fallout New Vegas, I still see New Vegas as the best game. I truly like the gameplay and the plot. Dead Money spices things up in a nice way.
I did try the first Fallout once, but quickly dropped it, after not having enjoyed the gameplay.
Let us know your opinion.
---
Finished Dead Money a while ago.
I liked it. Thought it was a nice, interesting story and I also appreciated the fact that success depended on proper team work.
Shame you can´t return to Sierra Madre after finishing it, though.
At the end, they made references to a future addon, where apparently the Courier will engage in a legendary combat with another courier named Ulysses. This battle will take place at the Divide.

I've picked up New Vegas again. Just messing around with my high level, end-game character. Don't have that much to do but explore, so am basically burning time and warming up for the add-on coming later this month.

You know. I've had new vegas for ages now. I still have yet to seriously play it. I think I played it for 30 minutes, then stopped and haven't picked it up again. But I also have played my xbox in general for months. I should play it already.

Play it, Remi! The world depends on it!

Then I will answer the call to save the world! Time to put on my superhero outfit and play some Fallout.

Shout if you need anything.

Veteran Rangers are so overpowered it´s disgusting.
Even using Euclid´s C-Finger, they´re still lurking around with half health and perfect aim.
Annoying.
I don´t want to merely take them down, which is not complicated. I want to take them down without getting hit, which is harder.

Re: Fallout Discussion Topic
Found Caesar's Legion as Legos.
I've explored every single area with my character now so I really don't have that much to do. (Maybe hunt some fiends and NCR, but that's about it)
I've started a full melee character yesterday, but am not that motivated to play it. I want to continue playing my high character but with more things to do. ><
---
One of the things I've read about the new add-ons is that none of them will allow people to keep playing after the last quest.
---
Did you try the game yet, Remi?

Re: Fallout Discussion Topic
All right, so I have completed the second Fallout New Vegas Addon - Honest Hearts.
Here's my review on it:
Like several comments I've seen, I also believe Honest Hearts to be an average expansion. It's not necessarily bad, but it's not good either. It took me about 5 hours (maybe more) to finish it without rushing through, but bear in mind that I have not explored everything nor have I done every option. (But I've read about them on Fallout wiki) Still, the quests are few and although some are fun, like to get a goat calf back to its family, the majority is merely quests of fetch, deliver and kill, without that much envelopment in the story and player. It seems forced and the Burned Man didn't have the impact he should have had. The scenario can be quite cool to look at and the companions are okay, but overall, I seriously believe it could have been much, much better. Nevertheless, I don't regret buying it, as I still had and am having a pleasant experience.

You have reminded me that I have still, yet to play Fallout Nee Vegas properly. I am really behind with my games
Re: Fallout Discussion Topic
Currently re-downloading Fallout: New Vegas through Steam.
I'm doing it because the new add-on Old World Blues is out and I'm going to buy it (through Steam). I hope it's better than the last one.
My top level Legion character hibernates from add-on to add-on.

Re: Fallout Discussion Topic
And once again Ark, you've reminded me that I STILL have yet to do anything in New Vegas. Urgl, don't know why I keep putting it off. I picked it up for about an hour a few weeks ago but wasn't in the mood for adventuring. My mind for the moment is pretty much stuck on playing simple games.
Need to get my gaming game back.

Re: Fallout Discussion Topic
Old World Blues is a good add-on. It grants a lot of gameplay hours, not only because it adds a map with many places to explore but also because it has several sidequests and a couple of those can be replayed a few times.
The main quest is hilarious, the characters are crazy, but it can be a little confusing to understand it properly since there's a lot of crazy talk going on.
You can upgrade your house and several devices, including weapons and a stealth armour.
Only one more add-on to go to complete Fallout New Vegas.
