What's your favourite music genre?

Self explanatory, really.

I like nearly all types of music, so long as the song is actually well made and thought out. Hence why I have strange music moods, for example suddenly switching from Jazz to Dubstep.

I enjoy every kind of music except Country and metal.
Though, I do like Rap, Rock and some video game music above the rest.

Heavy, Thrash and Gothic Metal. Hard and Classic Rock. Classical.

Hate Hip-Hop, Rap and Trance, though like the occasional tune from all genres.

My favorite music genre goes from classic rock to prog metal.
Although I love the classic stuff the best methinks.

I hate country, rap, and soft rock. Blehh

I listen nearly exclusively to metal. I have gained greater interest in Melodic Death Metal recently, but I also listen to Power Metal, Symphonic Metal and some Pagan/Viking/Folk Metal. I prefer if the vocals are male growls. A female vocalist with clean song together with male growls is a nice duet.

My favorite band is, without doubt, Equilibrium. I think they're typically classified as Melodic Black and Viking Metal, but if you ask me, they're really in a genre of their own. I have never heard anything like them. If you on the other hand have, don't you dare keeping it a secret from me!

The music I hate the most is pop music and techno with all its auto-tune and simple disco-beats that are the same in every song. I can respect any musical style where it actually takes some skill to perform the song, but no music outside metal appeal to me enough to listen to more than once. Except perhaps some classical music.

I dislike pop music on the whole though because, as damnagoras said, it doesn't seem overly skillfull. I hate autotune and the majority of pop is churned out to make money, not an impression.

I think my favourite genres are Metal (of various types, again depending on who and how its performed) and what I-tunes declares as 'Alternative' Which I guess is Indie but not the 'pop' indie you see mostly.

I guess my music tastes are really varied, but I lean toward the rock/metal side of things rather than the dance and rap side.

I would say that metal and rock are my favourite genres. I like the 80's and 90's rock for the most part. For metal, I like many different types just nothing that is growling.
