A nip in the bud.
Recently got hit with a new wave of mass downrates. But this time unprompted by an announcement creation. (UBD_Let it go, concerning the Hydro/Fooby conflict) It just happened today, and I would like to stop it before it can grow. Obviously making a "AY! I JUZ GOT DWNRTED!!!! XO" Creation would only make matters worse, but making a "Why?" Creation might have a simillar effect. Any suggestions from experience here?

Take a short break from creating and concentrate on other stuff for a short while, that's what i did and i haven't been downrated since

Thanks. Hopefully it will help if I just completely ignore them.

Re: A nip in the bud.
Well seeing as I only create something once a week downraters only attack me ever so often agreed with bmpalmann, downraters have very tiny brains thus can't retain that much information and will forget about you if you leave it long enough.
Re: A nip in the bud.
Look at it on the plus side mudo, if you keep a low profile for a little bit, then you can concetrate on the % adventures

Re: A nip in the bud.
I'm afraid breaks don't always work. I hadn't created for a week or so (which is long for me, as I used to be incredibly active) and the first thing I shared (an adventure) got smacked down about an hour after I shared it. Pathetic.
All I can say is to ignore it, really... That, or take a longer break... Or suck up to Fooby, which wouldn't be the best idea.

You call that inactive Rebecca? Soome weeks I'm lucky to be able to release a creation. You might notice, normally I only release a creation every two weeks.
@Mudo, I'd try not to release anything for atleast two weeks and like Ben said, that will give you time to work on your % mission

Re: A nip in the bud.
Becca, your version of inactive is a lot of other people's idea of being proactive

Re: A nip in the bud.
Didn't say it was innactive, but that's a break for me sometimes. After just 3 or 4 days people started asking for creations But it's just an example. Breaks, long or short, don't always work, unless it's so long you're either forgotten or the downraters are gone, or you're just lucky.
Excuse me my breaks are shorter than most.

Seems logical. I just wish I knew why they hit me. I almost never make UBD, (though I make UBD esque) And I've always been calling for peace. I'll just completely ignore them, so they can't get any satisfaction from dring me.

Good. And also, you made a "UBD_..." titled creation. Of course you'll be targeted =(

Sheesh, how many does it take? I've made... 3 random ones a long long time ago, one other random one that was more weird and funny than creepy, and then a creation for peace? Wow, never knew it was that easy.

Re: A nip in the bud.
In my opinion, ignore the downrates and downraters.
Create to have fun and spend a good time. There are people, like here in this forum, that appreciate your creations. Focus more on that.
When people keep being concerned and discussing about downrates, this just feeds them. Like those creations on the MPN demanding downraters to stop. That only increases their numbers and activities.

Yep, no way I'm making one of those. To be honest... they might actually be kinda helpfull in keeping spam away from me, as less people will see the creations.

ha well luckly most of my subscribers could care less when I make something, so I can take alittle bit longer breaks, and yeah I have noticed a couple tome seeing "When are you going to make..." comments on your creations. Seems rather demanding if you ask me
Re: A nip in the bud.
Indeed. Why do you think I've made 20 fricken VotD adventures, and crap loads of Dragons? I'm not as obsessed as my reputation makes me seem.

Re: A nip in the bud.
No I know, you giving your fans what they want. but really I was looking thropugh some of your none Valley of the dragon missions and i occasionally saw one of two comments saying Whens the next valley of the dragons coming out?!?! Seriously, I know the people love that series (which it is a good series by the way) but really, to pester you constantly about when the next one is coming out seems slightly rude to me. You should be allowed to create what you want when you want, without someone asking you to make something else
Re: A nip in the bud.
Indeed. At one point I started making characters for the adventures, so someone complained for me to stop making lots of 'Chinese Dragons'... lolwut? And another person is repeatedly perstering me to use their template to make them a Spyro creation, even though I'm not allowed to change the shape, and the template's anatomy is God awfully wrong.
God, I hate people's idiocy It's really relaxing to know some people actually give a **** and give me my freedom to do what I want in my time with a game I paid for

Make what you want, when you want. If someones a true fan they will accept what you make, when you make it. Even though I don't get nearly as many comment, nor have a 1/5 the subscribers you do, I've started, since about february getting a ton of 'hey use my template' "haha. join my contest" and "Check out my newest creation" and ofcourse "CHECK OUT MY PAGE OR I"LL KILL YOUR CAT!!!!" comments. Can be very annoying at times, makes you feel like they didn't even look at the creation at all nor care, they just want advertisment for themselves.
To anyone considering posting those sort of comments. I never reply to a single self promotion comment.... never and nor do most creators, so don't do it. If you want people to notice you, make good creations and give comments (proper comments, not "cool" or "nice" single word comments)
Re: A nip in the bud.
Agreed with Reyes and it happens to me too. I never return comments in response to those you mentioned before.
And what I really hate is to see is average creations (or sometimes crappy) and then comments like: "This is Soooo Cool! Very good I love it!" ... And you can totally tell it's a lie. Or like "Perfect! Love the colors R+++++++++++++++++++++ pls check my craetions"
Those comments, when they're on good or very good creations, then I can live with it. But when it's on crappier stuff, you can totally see they're doing that to get comments back and that's what annoys me.
When I Really comment (cuz sometimes I just give my first impression), I usually give my first impression, then what I like and sometimes what I'd change, if it were me. (Ofc sometimes just to be wanabee lame I comment silly stuff on Vektrix )
