Unless you like micromanaging a city that never seems to catch up with your city-planning intentions, then go for it. You can make quite a nice-looking city with A LOT of patience. I preferred the more easy-going City Life, the precursor of CitiesXL. Although, there you have to deal with the annoying classes.

The game can bore you to tears sometimes.

Anyone played From Dust already?
And can anyone tell me if it will run on a mac through Boot Camp?

I played it on mac with boot camp. It runs well (in my case).

I've played the beta a few years ago and found the game quite addictive. Micromanaging doesn't bore me much, at least not in this case. The whole trade system was very buggy at the time, and that kept the cities from growing like we wanted; but if that's been properly fixed I'll probably enjoy the game. But I'll wait a bit more, until there's another Steam sale.

Yeah there are some great deals on it. That is definitely one.
Then there are some selling it for WAY to much... For some reason it was easier to find a deal on GA than on C&C. And GA adds so much more to the game than C&C does!
