During a recent research on internet fatigue (thanks to a post of Vek's) I came across a neat questionnaire that determines how you use online technology

What kind o tech user are you?

I've taken the test and it says the following for me:

You are an Desktop Veteran
If you are a Desktop Veteran, you are a veteran online user who is content to use a high-speed connection and a desktop computer to explore the internet and stay in touch with friends. Your cell phone and mobile applications are in the background for you. In some ways, a Desktop Veteran may appear to be tech-oriented, but from 2004. You might occasionally participate in the online commons, but you treat the cell phone as if it were equipped only with voice capability.

It's very accurate indeed. Smile

That sounds like me - especially the cell phone bit.

You are confident in your ability to troubleshoot your various information devices and services

Yeah, the cell phone... Vek, MST, Thomas, Lum and I are probably some of the very few eurosporeons who can remember a time where you'd find yourself desperately looking for a phone booth hoping you'd find enough change to make the necessary phone call. confused

I don't know if that describes me that well.

If you are a Drifting Surfer, you are an infrequent online user. When you use technology, it is for basic information gathering – perhaps looking for some news headlines. It wouldn’t bother you to give up the internet or cell phone. Digital resources are not at the center of how you get information, keep in touch with people, or do your job.

I don't know how it got the infrequent user bit? I said i went on the internet multiple times a day.... confused
