Re: Monster Hunter Tri Discussion
I thought it looked a bit like that insulation you get round pipes. The only time it remotley fits is when you change it to white and look like an eskimo in the tundra ^^

Lol
U no Fail!
You have to get to a certain point (Sssh, spoilers) before you can change to red, white, blue or none and then hit high rank online before you can change high rank armour to other colours. Its only a little bit of the armour anyway, unless its luddy or bnahabra.

Re: Monster Hunter Tri Discussion
i had my first online quest with a sporefriend of mine he isnt't active anymore, but it was fun i was a real NOOB haven't killed any big monster before and i hadn't had any armour!^^ he created a city and i switched to him, than we startet a normal royal ludroth. i was scared to hell when i saw this ludroth!^^ but it became more harder, a rathian landed and killed me with a onehit...
he killed ludroth on his own, i got the parts and start creating a ludroth armour....

Re: Monster Hunter Tri Discussion
Lol, I went online and did most of the silly collecting quest solo... The first big monster I did was Jaggi. I complained that it was a lot harder than offline at the time xD I waited untill I got to Gobul off line I think, so I had a couple of armours. I remember the first time I saw an ian I was so scared!
Its probably a good thing you are waiting untill later to start horm, because you won't ruin the plot and how it introduces you to monsters and stuff.

Yeah.
Hey, you know how you said it'd get easier fighting Great Jaggis?
I killed two today in the same run. At one point I was fighting both at one time. D:
I died twice though, but luckily they didn't heal much. Although, I used a hammer, so that was helpful. I really like the hammer now.
Say, where is a good place to find Machalite Ore?

Yeah, I always get caught without one when there is machalite to be had. >_>Kevin92 wrote:i always have 5 iron ones and 5 mega ones with me
Beat my first Qurupeco today.
Stupid thing. >:s I beat it with a switch axe, which is my new 2nd favorite weapon.
I can kill the Great Jaggis in a couple minutes with a switch axe. Now I have as many Great Jaggi Hides as I could want

Re: Monster Hunter Tri Discussion
Wow, sounds like you've really got the hang of it. My best time on G.Jaggi is 30 secs with a HR SnS, so considering you did it in a couple of mins at this point is fantastic!
Hammers are fun too, I fail so much with them though
Congrats on the Peco too, that is probably the most annoying creature with all its hiding behind other creatures.

When I was trying to capture it, the calls backfired.
It called itself a Rathian (scary this early in the game o_O), and the Ian is trying to blast me into a crater the entire time, but I keep hiding behind the Peco, and the Rathian fireballs it like 8 times and does the work for me. Then I just run for my life and capture the stupid thing
Trying to beat the Royal Ludroth right now... I was fine until it jumped in the water, and then it just murdered me.

Re: Monster Hunter Tri Discussion
Haha, Pro Tactics ^^
The first time ian turned up I slashed it a few times with my sword, then woke up in camp with a burning smell...
Ahh... Luddy, at this stage is difficult because of the damn water mechanics. Generally staying to the right of him works well, or above. If he swims backward quickly, you need to move to the right as well, or you gonna cart. Had so much trouble with him underwater, especially all his combos.
I still chant 'not in the water, not in the water' to myself when he's around xD

Wow... 3.25, thats amazing. Were they clust/stat gunning? Or did you trap spam? There must have been some technique you used for that time! Well congrats! You should put it in your profile
I've yet to kill a Jho... After this weekend Im gonna find some time for good ol MH... Been too long ^^

Yeah, I need to keep him out of there. :s
I've been watching Let's Plays by SocialDissonance...He makes it look so easy. D:
I really don't want to capture the Luddy. I can barely kill it, let alone capture the darned thing.

Re: Monster Hunter Tri Discussion
capture the luddy is more easy than kill it! cause the capture quest is in the moga forest and he first is in area 5, than in 9 and than in 10... (it was so in my game ) i trapped it in 9
the kill quest is in the flooding forest (i hope it's the correct english word ) there he has more chances to come into the water...

Re: Monster Hunter Tri Discussion
Well that's good.
I can't find any good patterns for his attacks. Great Jaggi's were pretty obvious when they were going to do a certain attack, but the Luddy...
EDIT:Yay. I got him with a War Hammer.
Now onto Barroth.

Re: Monster Hunter Tri Discussion
Yay! Congrats, hammering him is hard, he takes hardly any impact damage.
Next time, bring bombs to the flooded forest and sneak round to area 2 you can place them in the small passage that leads to area 4 (I think its 4, well its where he usually starts anyway) By the time you've done this he should come wandering into area 2 and a well placed paintball can detonate them and cause massive damage. Placing a trap helps too. He also stays out of water longer that way because he comes into area 2 and then leaves to the starting area as normal.
Aha, Barroth... You'll probably want his armour if you plan on hammering, its got great skills for that. Only thing I'll say with barroth is make sure you have somthing with a shield or that you can evade with easily! Oh and waterblock seeds...

Yeah...I tried to get him with the hammer, but apparently that wasn't working. I almost got him, but he beat me first.
I'm going to farm some Ludroth weapons and get him with the Water elemental.
