Re: Terraria

Soooo... I successfully managed to mine all of a meteorite without an obsidian skull. With 2 hearts left from Meteor Head spam.

Hmmm... I didn't know anyone would need a better PC for THIS... I mean, it's so basically made, yet it's so complex in gameplay!

One of my close friends just bought this.
He says it's a lot of fun, so I might actually get it.

I've been seeing a lot of videos on youtube about this lately. Looks rather fun actually. I might consider picking it up in my break.

I don't care if this was a joke, you actually can find a pirate of it somewhere. But it has no Multiplayer so meh if you want MP.
kyle_r93 wrote:I have 77 hours on this game... is that bad?
I have... 81 hours, a few days after release. And no, that's not bad, someone already has 250 hours already, though I don't think the games been out that long.

Re: Terraria
After seeing tons of videos about it on youtube, I decided to cave in and get it.
Surprisingly addictive. Fun game. Definitely minecraft inspired but, Unlike minecraft it has more of an adventure/exploration feel, while Minecraft is more about creativity.
The monsters are fun too. but good gravy the worms are annoying. I always dread hearing the train-like chugg coming towards me. I had the misfortune of four of them showing up at once.
Trying to get a person to move in. I did what is required I think (a bed, light source, table, chair and completely walled with a door), but no one is showing up. What exactly do you have to do to get someone to move in?

The bed actually isn't necessary, but other than that it looks like you have a complete room. The guide will move in to the first room that you complete, do you have him yet?LordRemington wrote:After seeing tons of videos about it on youtube, I decided to cave in and get it.

Re: Terraria
A merchant moves in once you get 50 silver coins.
A Demolitionist once you get some sticky bombs (Check me on that)
A Nurse moves in once you increase your overall health by one heart.
Those are the only ones I think I have. I think I might be missing one though.

^ They don't hae to be sticky bombs, it's just bombs or dynamite.
Dryad moves in after defeating a boss.
Arms dealer moves in after acquiring a gun.
Clothier moves in after defeating Skeletron.

Re: Terraria

Re: Terraria
In my opinion it's worth much more than that, I've gotten 117 hours of gameplay on it D: It's really addicting, and I haven't even touched the multiplayer yet.sjhorm wrote:So I'm thinking about getting this.

Re: Terraria
Like you, horm, I am also considering purchasing this game. It's cheap and seems like it could be entertaining in a similar way that Minecraft is.
Edit: Blop. Decided to buy it. It's a funny game, although the fact I just discovered you can't swim threw me a little off. At least you keep your items when you die.

Yeah the not being able to swim thing was a bit of a kick in the butt to me. I was in a very deep part of my mine and dropped into some deep water. I thought it would be like minecraft and you could swim but nope. Drowned.
You almost lose nothing, except its annoying that you lose coins, especially when you are saving up to attract a Merchant
It was too far down and not worth going all the way back down to get my coins, but still, lameness.
