Man they put a ton of effort into that Mod. Can only hope Notch realizes how cool it is and adds something similar through a patch or as part of the finished game.

My bet is the first expansion pack will be somthing like this. I mean, he was messing about with an 'Aether world' and PC gamer falsely reported it'd be in the game, to which he responded that he may as well add it now.

But he also said it looked ugly and needed alot of improvement. With this in mind, he'll want to develop it further and with the 1.8 update I doubt he's had time to do that. So, yeah, Im guessing it'll be an update/post release expansion.

On the actual mod, it looks amazing! I really like the idea of flying pigs and I think they fit really well in the minecraft world. I've never wanted to mod my minecraft before, but this mod really makes me want to.

The only bit I dislike a bit is the Valkyries. I don't really like the idea of NPC's anyway, but the rest of it looks too good to miss.

Their only purpose is to drop a medallion upon killing them. You need 10 medallions to fight the silver boss. They aren't really NPC's, more like humanoid mobs; like zombies.

Any of you guys know how to share a world here? Make a zip and upload it with some kind of sharing site?......

I just decided MC 1.8 was rubbish and backdated to 1.7.3

Then I downloaded the Technic Pack

It's basically an insanely awesome set of mods that make minecraft more like industry. You can well for oil, then pipe it to tanks and then use the oil to power combustion engines which power an automated quarrying device. Different materials go in different pipes to a factory, where you can automatically craft things you want, the pipe them into chests, which are in turn piped to another machine like a furnace, until you end up with an empire of diamond.

Best mod ever. You can get solar panels too

Grrr, for some reason my minecraft aint working.

I haven't been on minecraft in ages, but decided seeing as they release 1.8, I might as well go on and get the update download. but for some reason my game won't connect to minecraft.net. I thought maybe there was just some down time on, but I tried a few hours later and nothing. also I can log onto minecraft.net just fine, but my game refuses to connect. anyone have any ideas as to the issue. does it have something to do with my inactivety as I haven't played in nearly 6 months.

Inactivity shouldn't prevent you from logging in via the launcher. Perhaps your launcher itself is broken? If that seems to be the case, try downloading a new one manually from minecraft.net.

Wait.....what? That's bad advice - basically, the launcher doesn't usually connect. To connect, just keep on clicking retry until it does. It usually takes a few attempts but it works

See thats the issue, I knew it does sometime fail to connect, but its just not connecting no matter when I do it or how many times I try. I tried again yesterday, still didn't work, tried just now, still doesn't work Its confuzzling

! month since I last tried to log into minecraft and once again it still says it can't connect to minecraft.net, despite me being able to log on to the minecraft.net website. So that rules out sever downtime or anything.

At a loss as to what the problem is.

I am now being followed by a Minecraft website on Twitter - not sure I have even mentioned Minecraft in any of my tweets, though

I"m not playing minecrafting anymoer for quite a while now. Last time I started up my save game to show someone the world I created (a huge rock island with a palace, multiple epic underground rooms all accesable with coded doors) I got a fatal error and now the savegame won't load. it doesn't show up ingame. Such a shame, many, many days of work went into that one.
I wanted to share it as somekind of adventure one day.

Next time, remember to back up particularly important save files.

Or use system restore.

MCedit saved me from a problem like that. Funnily enough, now my main Minecrafting activity is there, working on a Vechs' inspired CTM map.

I'm currently creating an adventure map. It'll have a small city with Minecarts moving about
