What are you working on in GA?
Actually assuming that people are still creating GA's and not too busy mining I thought it would be a nice idea to show what adventures you are working on at the moment.
Please don't worry about people 'stealing' your ideas, you can reveal as much or as little as you like, plus if somone does try to 'steal' your idea, you are bound to do better as you are more creative than people who can't think for themselves. I doubt anyone would do that here anyway. (this isnt the sporum)
-------------
So, in this thread, share your in progress adventures. Tell us your storyine, theme, share screen shots, videos, characters, you could even ask people to test run it if you like. Update us. Maybe you need help with getting somthing to work or look right? Let us know how long you've been working on it, what inspired you, in short have fun discussing how you go about making an adventure.
With a little luck, it'll help others to learn as well as you gaining constructive feedback

Good to see more people with a GA interest.
Unfortunately, I do not play Spore anymore and, although I had several adventures finished and published, several others have been left half way. ><

Same. I haven't actually turned on spore in months. I have about 5 or 6 adventures is half way finished, but never released. The last one I tried to make, was a silly spore version of portal. Naturally it couldn't be anything like the real portal, but rather just involved going through a series of portal to get to the exit and using keys to unlock correct portals.
Spent a while on it, but never finished it.
Re: What are you working on in GA?
@ Ark: I think spore has reached the stage where people use it if they are bored. I still use it although very rarely publish any adventures. I love the whole concept of making a world to play in, but lack the patience to actually see it through most of the time!
@Remi: Sounds good, although I dislike making actual adventures, I find the AI to be limiting to what I want to do. I stopped for about 8 months lol, but recently been messing about in the GA editor, I like it as a casual outlet for creativity or bordom.
Which brings me to reveal what I am doing at the moment. I hope I see it through, although I might forget about it in the end XD
As I said above, most of my 'adventures' are explore adventures. I just like creating environments and chocca blocking them with detail. Some find it boring, some like it. All I know is I kill a few hours and have fun. At the moment Im into oriental themes, so I'm making an oriental themed environment, I don't think it'll ever be a template, because I really want to push the complexity meter.
So far it has an autumn style forestish area, with a pond and stream. I hope to put some animals and interesting structures there too. Theres a rockface with some stairs going into it, which leads to a little plateu. On there I am putting a hot spring and I have started an oriental style lodge. I am not using teleporters for it and I want it to be on two levels, full of oriental knick knacks. It's the first time I'm using the building editor for props and buildings, its a challenge, but fun. I also hope to have a mountain view area and a bridge to an isolated mounain shrine. Complexity allowing.
Even if I only complete it for myself, it will be fun to make. It' sad no one uses spore much, because I enjoyed the whole learning and helping and generally the community side of things.

Wow! I hope everyone's adventures turn out great! As for me, I'm not really great at making epic adventures. But I am learning how to do creature poses scrapbook adventures. I was inspired by my spore bud Wolf_Queen to have a go at them. To be honest Indy I thought you gave up spore for good. But I guess you still play it so I might sub you at some point. ^^'

i made some (in my eyes) good GAs but i have no time at the moment to create annything
Re: What are you working on in GA?
@shardna: Meh, I play occasionally. I used to play every night, and try to release somthing but like kevin, I don't have the time always. I have been doing MHT creatures for the time being and like I said, working on that adventure. I saw some of those scrap books you made, really cool idea! If you like that sort of thing you should check out icedmask's dragon battle still life. Its very good.
@Kevin: I'd agree ^^ Be nice to see you working on somthing again, but I know how it can be with trying to find the time!

Well I rarely work on GAs these days because I ain't that interested in making GAs (playing them over making them actually)
But I have been working on a horror-ish adventure
I've been also working on my series Badok's Treasure.

Re: What are you working on in GA?
I started on a kind of horror adventure during Halloween but never got around to finishing it. Its set in an old village, all the characters are human except for animals and the enemies, and I made sure all the humans look somewhat realistic. In this adventure the your captain will have to rescue the priest's daughter. There is a graveyard, church, town, countryside, and other areas in this adventure too.
(Its been so long that I forgot how to take photos without all the extra stuff showing )

Nice interiors, there. Good work.
I can't put my graphics up at that level or my computer will drown.
Hmm... Maybe this topic can be relevant to this thread. Hope it is so ^^

@Lonestar: Fantastic city! Looks really fun to walk round, with loads of detail. I know what you mean about losing interest, I get bored very quickly so anything I publish is an achievement lol. I'd love to play that once its finished
@Arctic: That looks super creepy. A great idea too! Reminds me of a follow on from the maxis adventure with the priest a little. That would be great to see finished, although I often run out of steam halfway through. I can't remember how to do that either :S I think if you do the ctrl + C and type help it comes up with a list of commands.
@Ark: Thats a great thread! I really really liked the idea of plantations, never ever thought of that. Will read through the whole thread, there seems to be some great ideas in there!

Re: What are you working on in GA?
It's been some time since I opened up Spore. I don't think I have since I released my latest adventure, which is part of a series. I suppose I've grown a bit tired of Spore.
I hope the people who enjoy the series don't get too disappointed in me losing interest... Apparently most seem to think I did an awesome job. I hope that my interest will be renewed again, because I remember how fun it can be to construct an adventure, and I would like to use the ideas I have for the series.
It's focused on story and plot, since I'm a story-teller kind of person.

Re: What are you working on in GA?
I really like stories in adventures but always mess them up when I try to do it. I think the only story I've done is on where you are a lizard and is about your life cycle. It was the first GA I made lol. You should post a link to your series, I'd love to check it out. I hardly ever play GA's because I find it hard to hunt god ones out, so when I see somthing promising I always jump at it
I think it goes in phases with spore too, its fun to construct things but can reach that point where you just want to start seeing results instead of spending time. Mainly why I don't do series. I did a 'community' project on the sporum a while back, but only did 2 in the whole thing. I couldn't drum up enough response and I felt that people, although their enthusiasm was good, were pushing me to make things and I lost the enjoyment factor. So I get where you come from with the dissapointment thing.
My GA is coming on okay. I added a shrine, a long rope bridge and finished the bottom floor of the house. I am actually really enjoying using the building editor to make props, somthing I thought would never happen. I also added some mountains and birds and even a koi carp pond. I doubt I'll put a second story on the house, while I could my complexity is through the roof for what I have already. Will post some screens when I have access to spore.

I think I made an identical one here on Eurospore as well, but I haven't updated it in ages.
It has 3 parts at this point, including the prologue in which you meet my avatar. I don't know why I grew so fond of him. I hope you enjoy the series!

Re: What are you working on in GA?
Sometimes I wonder how I can manage to keep making stuff. Maybe its because its not like I have the time to open it up every day so I always go into it with things I might want to work on. What I am thinking, though, is that I might call it quits myself after I finish what I'm working on.
I still have my old Jurassic adventure which I need to finish, and a Cretaceous adventure as well which I really would like to complete, since it is currently very early in construction. Currently I'm working on finishing the creatures for the Jurassic adventure and getting those out so I can finish it up.
And I'm working on something else, which throws all accuracy to the wind in exchange for gameplay and something that looks cool. Progress on it has been very swift since almost everything in it (and in fact the map itself) is made out of content I already have. I'll have more detail and a bunch of pics later, but I'll just throw up a few for now.
For the record, that is like, only my second or third time trying to properly outfit, but it very practical, animates well, and I think it looks decent in the environment.
Oh, and I should be ready to get into testing soon, so if anyone is interested in helping me out there be sure to let me know.

Re: What are you working on in GA?
I'm beginning a series of adventures - about some kind of "nature guardians" called "The Residents" these residents are guardians of the nature in the whole Galaxy. Their main - and only - enemy is the Grox, because they destroy the environment on every planet they encounter.
The plot is for these residents to come to every planet - belonging to another race and "De Grox" the planet. This process however currupts everything with nature, and the native aliens must rebuild their whole civilization what so ever.
The first episodes will take place on this ship:
Plz give me sone meanings/feedback, and idears would be great too!

Re: What are you working on in GA?
Sounds like an interesting idea, Woit.
Here are some thoughts, since you've asked for them:
- What about "The Residents" being split up into two groups? One of those groups wants to fill everything with nature, including crazy, carnivorous plants and all of that, and don't really care about other sentient races. The other group would be more focused on removing Grox toxins and pollution from planets,, helping the other aliens, still using Nature to follow their orders. Maybe these groups were allied and worked together, maybe they could have some trouble with eachother too.
- Maybe The Residents have Epic Forest Giants who obey their orders You could make these guys Epic and slow, but powerful.
- Perhaps in one of the adventures The Residents can capture a Grox and De-Groxify it, by turning the Grox into a Nature Grox. xD Maybe the Nature Grox would go crazy due to its "pureness" and go into a comma.
- Maybe in one episode, perhaps because of a Virus produced by Grox, the Nature in a planet turns against the Residents and attacks them, becoming violent and hostile.
- If you make vehicles and buildings for these guys, why not create some sort of Organic unit, plant-style?
Have fun! ^^

Wow! - thanks for those idears Ark! Yeah deffenatly, some twisted s*** with these residents xD
I cant wait getting started on those giants!
And uhh that part about the Grox being "Natureificed" is awesome xD!
Yeah Deffenatly two types of residents makes it a lot more dramatic! - AWEsome picture! man thats nice, but I think it should rather protect the planet from the grox coming back! xD
Biologic vehicles - yeah!... it's just hard getting them right-.-', but deffenately the best way to follow the storyline:)
Grown spaceships from the spaceship garden - epic! xD

Awww, that is an awesome idea, grownig a spaceship! I can imagine some wierd freaky room with shoots and odd posd hanging from them that somehow the aliens can take off and vrooom around in.
Maybe hard to make in spore, but an awesome idea none the less.
Will be great to see how your adventure goes Woit
