What are you like when you're tired?

Everyone is tired sometime, some more than others. But different people can act differently when they're tired.
What are you like when you get tired? Is there a difference if you're tired from work/school or are just up late? Do you go through different phases as you get more and more sleepy?


Let's start with me:

I often stay up until late. By the time I feel like going to bed, I'm obviously not capable of thinking complicated thoughts and such. A few hours before that can however be the contrary - I often find myself being able to form some exquisite sentences that would fit well in poetry, if I have just the right degree of tiredness, and I tend to formulate sentences and express myself unusually well. There's good chances of creative ideas popping up in my head, which I write down so that I can remember them for later, be it for art or a text of some sort.
The next phase is not as pleasing. When I start to get really tired, that's when I get random. The likelihood of me posting nonsense and creating pointless threads increases greatly. Can be pretty fun though
At this moment, I'm somewhere between the two phases. You can probably tell - because seriously, what kind of weird thread is this? What the heck am I doing?? Yet I'm still able to form sensible sentences, with an at least decent vocabulary.

Any sort of tiredness during the day, be it from not sleeping well or from having a hard day at school (which happens to be combined very often), mostly just makes me depressed. I easily get depressed when I don't feel any creative.

Now, the productive form of tiredness is leaving me quickly, so I'd better finish the OP now:
What are you like when the clock is ticking late? What's your story? Is this thread worth responding too?

Well my tiredness goes through several stages



Stage 1

I'm a little drowsy. I might make obvious mistakes while typing something or miss points. Nothing that unusual in stage 1.

Stage 2

Increasingly drowsy and maybe a slight headache. At this point i start to make very obvious mistakes and if I'm talking to someone I might miss things they say or misinterpret things. This has been the cause of much annoyance for some people.

Stage 3
I'm starting to trip a little. My eyes are heavy and I am slightly delirious. In this state I often do things that don't make sense. e.g put things in obviously wrong place or start performing an action that has nothing to do with what I originally intended to do.

Stage 4
This is me for about the first 20 minutes after I wake up, then I move onto stage 3 for the next 40 mins. At this point I am dizzy, I get confused at things that don't require any real thought to figure out. e.g Not to long ago I somehow had forgotten how a door handle works and pulled it up instead of down. As my door handle is barely held on by anything on my door, it came off. Which made it a struggle to get out of my room.

I will like in Stage 3 make mistakes or perform actions that don't make sense, however it takes me a lot longer to realize I have made the mistake. E.g I threw a plate in the bin not long ago and only realized that I had thrown it in there after about 10 minutes.

Also just a couple days ago. I got up to get myself a glass of milk. Obviously at some point in my journey from my room to my kitchen, I completely forgot my original goal and processed to make myself a cup of noodles. I wasn't even particularly hungry, however I only realized what I was doing once I had poured in the hot water.

Does it have to be that detailed?

Um, I forget things easily, and I get kinda grumpy.

When I'm tired from school, I feel like doing nothing but watching TV.

I am usually "tired."

But when that tiredness passes into the wee hours of the morning, my thinking can become highly abstract. That's where my Papers come from.

I forget to do simple little things (e.g. spelling mistakes), I might become grumpy, depending on my other feelings at the time.

There are two types of tiredness I get.

The first one is the genuine tiredness I often get in the late afternoon on a slow day. Then I just want to lie down and take a nap. I get that same feeling after a very busy day and if I went to bed I would fall asleep more quickly than usual.

The other kind of tiredness I get is more the consequence of when I didn't take a nap or go to sleep at that moment, I then get slaphappy. Every one of my senses seems to go on full force and whatever I do, I do it with a passion, but of course with a little clumsiness thrown in.

Stage 1.
Loss of Energy

Stage 2.
Eyelids Feel Heavy

Stage 3.
Yawning

*If not asleep after this...

Stage 4.
Constantly saying i'm going to take a small nap (ppppftt, yeah right).

Stage 5.
Constant Giggling at anything said (e.g. If sam said Potato, i'd pretty much laugh untill im in pain).

Stage 6.
Inability to stay upright

Stage 7.
Probably collapse... probably anything else to be honest.

I recognize that. I remember listening to some new songs once, and I thought "Oh my God, this is amazing music!!". But when listening to them next day, it was more like "Meh." And similarly with an adventure I played once.

When I get overly tired I laugh a lot over nothing and sometimes don't make sense...kind of like being intoxicated in a way.

I'm sort of the opposite. When I get really tired, I tend not understand things that are supposed to be funny and I can still talk fine but fail to understand what other people mean

I know people that are like that on a regular basis, without being tired. =/

I act completely dumb.

When i'm tire i tend to watch films that i wouldn't watch normally, my speech slurs a little and it feels like my IQ drops to 0.

Unfortunately if I get very tired( thankfully this doesn't happen very often) I start to make terrible jokes that don't even make sense.

I am exactly the same as when i am not tired, i just tend to get angrier a little quicker than usual.

I tend to be a little less patient, and I tend to get less done. Other than that, I'm just the same. Minus the fact that I'll be trying to hop into the nearest bed or couch

Meh when I get tired I daydream for five mins. Then I go to bed and sleep. Mind you I always do this sometimes in the evenings for no reason.

I get all cranky and angry, my head starts pounding and I don´t go to bed everytime.

Instead I hug the nearest fluffy object and close my eyes wanting to sleep lol.


I also have a tendency to yell.

My jokes are so terrible, people laugh because I stop talking after having told the joke.

aahh the awkward silence, I know that well

When I'm tired (When I wake up) I do not speak for like 5 minutes.

And also, I get confused about where things are, but I'm alright after a few minutes.
