Movies that never get old Empty Movies that never get old

Most movies you see once or twice, then you don't want to watch again. Not necessarily because they are bad, they just don't have a high degree of replayability. but then there are those movies you could stick in the DVD (and if you are old school VCR) player and play on a near continuous loop and not get bored of them. Well maybe not to that extreme, but you find yourself watching it quite regularly.

What are those movies for you?

Mine are: Flying High, The naked gun movies, the monty python movies, the original matrix movie, 300, The lord of the rings trilogy, Kung fu hustle, Spirited Away, the original Mortal Kombat movie, and the original shrek movie.

I probably have plenty others, but can't think of them right now.

I find myself always drawn to rewatching the Narnia series, mostly because now I've developed an interest in how films are made, and they fall into my preferred genre. And I guess the laughs we get just never fade. Smile

In general, I never get tired of seeing supernatural genre films, something about always imagining what it would be like, that draws me back time after time.

How I forgot the matrix I have no idea, but yes.

I can't say I've ever seen into the wild, but it reminded me of another movie that never gets old for me. Wild Wild West. Remember watching it over and over again and never getting bored of it. I should watch it again.

And agree with Princess Mononoke. Great movie. Same goes for Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle.

Movies I can always watch again and again are the Police Academy films. They are miles better than the [Lame] Movie films that parody the current movies. The plot, the jokes and then characters were more original and genuine than the cookie cutter ones from today, which can be applied to most films of today.

I don't want to be the old geezer in the thread but sometimes filmmakers just have to rely on their artistic guts than focusing on special effects and money-making trends in movies, and back then they did just that.

Agreed with Andy on that one, the PA films are superb. And why have special effects when you have a guy who can do the audio effects for you? Razz

I agree with that Andy.
Also liked the first couple of PA movies, the later ones not so much.

I also want to add another one, even though it's a serie: death note (best anime ever)
