Re: User Announcements (Part IV)
Thank you to all for your compassion during this time.
I just need to know, now more than ever, that I'll be welcome here to see you whenever. I have lost a dear friend close to home, and now I wish to strengthen my other friendships before I lose them completely.
Because I know I won't find anyone else quite like you folks, whether I knew you (Vektrix, Blaze, etc.) and even those I know less (Saki, thank you for speaking with me). Quite simply, you are the people I am proud to be friends with, real life be damned.

Re: User Announcements (Part IV)
In general, I find I get on better with people over the internet than in real life too.
The fact that it's letters and numbers on a screen, yet somehow individual for each person, means there are no misjudgements or stereotypical first impressions.
But yes, you've always got friends here Niddy no matter what's going on in the real world

Nid, I'm being serious, listen to Rain by Breaking Benjamin. It always makes me feel better when I'm sad or down. I'm so sorry for the loss of Taldar, seems like just yesterday you were telling us that you just got him.
Re: User Announcements (Part IV)
I will be sure to listen to it.

I have no intentions of deleting or closing EuroSpore in the near future - and as Andy has pointed out above, we're working on it. Although the domain name will expire shortly, it will be still accessible.
I am a strange individual when it comes to friendship and strangers. I make friends very rarely, it takes a lot to get passed my cold exterior to the emotions behind the wall. However, although I dislike meeting new people (in the flesh), I rarely find situation as awkward or nerve wracking as my poor brain makes it out to be (my brain somehow persuades me every stranger I am about to meet is evil ). The internet is a lot different, in that people rarely meet in the flesh, and if I were to meet any of you for real, my nervousness would not be because of not knowing you guys.

It was certainly intriguing. Not my favourite, if I'll be honest.

I always listen to it when I'm sad because it's a light tune, and i like Ben's (vocalist) voice

Well, to each their own, as one would say. :3
It was a good song for the moment, 'tis just not something I'd have daily.

Re: User Announcements (Part IV)
Had my neuroanatomy mid semester exam yesterday. For the entire semester leading up to it, our lab supervisor has been stressing how hard it would be and that our lecturer is notorious for making her exams very hard. So I'd been studying like hell for the last 5 weeks to prepare, making sure I'd be as prepared as possible.
Get into the actual exam and the questions were so basic, someone who had only done a few hours of overview study just before the exam could have done just as well.
Basically 95% of the things he stressed we'd need to know for the exam, didn't come up at all.
Was annoyed but figured, hey, maybe it'd be good for the final exam right? Next lecture I have, our lecture tells us, she'll be giving us the questions ahead of time so we just really need to figure out and remember the answers...
A bit peeved, considering I could have focused on so many other things rather than devoting all that time to neuro. But hey, atleast if someone asks me to identify something on a brain I should have no problems.

The new LAG community has been opened. I invite everyone to join us over there while EuroSpore is slowly closing its gates.
Feel free to repost your popular threads over there. Since the forum is brand-spanking-new, please feel free to make your own, separate threads, an announcement thread may be started if it gets crowded over there.

Jeez it's been over a year since I last posted here.
Well I successfully graduated my degree with Distinction and now I'm doing an Honours year studying stroke. I'm not really interested in getting into research, but doing Honours helps to boost my GPA my eliminating my first, awful, year of grades.

I figured with Life and Games gone down the shitter, people would return to this place. I couldn't remember my password till I guessed and, well, here I am posting...
The Sporum was down for a long time too. Pity it didn't stay that way.

I noticed that too - it was down for at least a month and a half - I genuinely thought that was it, and it had died! Twas not to be, and SMBB was very...corporate...about how he worded his pretty dire "explanation"

Re: User Announcements (Part IV)
Life and games did not really last very long. It was a good forum but I never saw it as a good substitue for Euro. We could have just stayed here and have been better off imo.world_piece wrote:I figured with Life and Games gone down the shitter, people would return to this place. As with the sporum, I really wish it was still down. I have such a mixed relationship with that forum. I guess I only still use it because I am attached to it sorta, the memories of the past times on it kinda always somehow draw me back to it. But its so obviously a shadow of its former self.

It'd be great to organise some community events, like a Civ game or some other tournament or lobby

I am still around, sort of..... not touched Spore in 2 years, at least. I am now an Uncle and am terrible at keeping in touch with anyone.
