Zoo Tycoon 2

I recently re-installed ZT2 and all its expansions with the attempt to finish all campaigns for once. Of course you can also make your own zoo with dozens of animals, near-realistic biomes and a whole bunch of fun facilities for your guests.

There is a modding community that has re-skinned some of the animals and objects in the game and a non-profit company called Aurora Designs is currently working on Zoo Tycoon 2: Radical Remake, a complete re-skin of all the games animals and objects from the base game to Extinct Animals. Part one with 10 animals is already downloadable.

If you're both an animal lover and video gamer then you just have to get this. Graphically, it is a bit outdated but there isn't another comparable zoo strategy game out there and ZT3 will never be made since Blue Fang has ceased their contract with Microsoft Games a couple years ago, I think.

Oooh, I have that game. Don't know where it is now, but when I was 10 I had it with all the expansion packs and such. I made a Zoo that's like National Bear Zoo or something. I was kind of weird back then, but had a great zoo.

I never got Zoo Tycoon 2. I only ever had ZT1.

i only have zoo tycoon and marine mania...^^ but i like this game

I love to play Zoo Tycoon. Marine mania is awesome, but though I have Extinct Animals too. Extinct Animals campaign is so fun

Graphics aren't so bad; I've seen a lot worse.

I have both, AWESOME games.

I have ZT2 and ZT1.

For ZT1, I have all add-ons.

For ZT2, I am missing African Adventures. D: Though I do have dozens of user-made expansion, one of my favourites is the ZT2 Jurassic Park Pack.

I've been trying to look for a list somewhere with all the mods but I haven't been successful yet.

I did a load of ZT2 testing to work out animal and habitat combos, I may do it again and publish my findings.

It's not really Mods, more like user-created content.

But, most of the Downloads are from several forums.

Once you have your findings together, I'll add them to the OP as well, Vek. They would sure help setting up a natural habitat, aka a safari zoo. =D

I certainly remember from ZT1 That if you put all the sharks in one exhibit, the Mako's would get killed, but the rest live together happily. I seem to remember something similar for ZT2... eg. Great White, Hammerhead and Goblin Shark are all quite happy together in Benthic and Pelagic. I will confirm this however.

BTW: Dino589, I seem to remember loves ZT2 as well.

That would be correct. I have both ZT1 and ZT2, and I love them both. I have the Complete Collection for ZT1, and for ZT2 I have Endangered Species and Extinct Animals (plus the 'official' version of Cretaceous Calamity, which never got released. I can't recall where I got it, though. I think it was from King Hoopla shortly after he left. As far as I know, no one else has it, or at least the 'proper' version I have).

I actually used to be a very prominent member on ZTV and eventually worked my way up to being a mod there for a period of time, however I eventually resigned. All it was was constant bickering, and that was back when the sites were all warring with each other too, and all of it was tearing the community to shreds and I really didn't see the point in it, and later left completely (though I pop on Environ from time to time, mostly to keep in touch with one of my buddies).

I think I may have several pics back in my Photobucket somewhere, which I would be happy to go dig up if anyone wanted.

I have ZT1 and ZT2 with Endagered species. I could'nt get the others though because they wouldn't install on my computer for some odd reason

Guys, I did something 2 years ago... and, I'm not sure if it was the right thing to do.

So, I wanted Extinct Animals, and I bought it, when I got home, it wasn't EA, it was ZT2 Ultimate Collection (but no Extinct Animals included)...

And...

I installed it, then I put it back in, and returned it for Extinct Animals. I had all expansions!

But now, I had to reinstall my computer about 10 months ago... and now... I don't have African Adventures anymore. I guess that makes up for my action.

That is interesting, Black leopard, Bengal Tiger and Jaguar will live happily together in the same exhibit - they would never meet in the wild.

Equally, Orca and Great White happy together too, despite the fact that Great Whites (according to recent research) are scared of Orcas.

Although unfortunately none of the downloads feature pics on their pages, so sometimes it is hard to see what you are getting, but there are still a few nice things there. Alot of DinosaurMan's stuff there, and its pretty decent in quality (some of it dinos, some of it other stuff). Love his little Oviraptor.

I hope to re-install ZT2 soon, and get some more expansion packs. The only one I have is Endangered Species

Grrrrrr..... Booted up my old comp (the one with ZT2 on it) to play for a bit. Dang, this thing is so slow..... Not to mention old.
But, just installed a couple DLs, so I'm going to see how it runs (and hopefully come back with a pic or two).

Edit: My Triceratops is now screwed over. Crap.

Anyone know if a Tiger Shark, Lemon Shark and Nurse Shark are available?
