NEWS: Research conducted by climate change skeptic, supports global warming

Now when a skeptic, funded by extreme skeptics comes out and say that his research points towards global warming being a real issue, then you gotta start giving up your skeptitism.

Its annoying that such large percentage of the general population are misinformed about global warming, thus creating a "non-existent" debate. As stated in the video, only 3% of scientists are skeptical of global warming, most of which are most likely being paid by oil companies to disagree with findings that support global warming.

Also if I remember correctly, there are no national scientific bodies (as in a countries scientific body rather than individuals) left in the world that deny global warming (I believe there are two or three that are still doing research, but there are non that have come to the conclusion that global warming doesn't exist) that disagree with global warming or that global warming is a man-made occurrence and not simply one that occurs naturally.

And yet still such a large percentage of people either disagree that global warming exists or think that its not us thats causing it, thanks to campaigns by oils companies to create confusion amount society, when there in actually there is little debate on the subject amongst the scientific community.

Just saw this and felt I'd vent just a little (But also for news sake ofcourse )

Right, my view on Climate Change.

Throughout history there have been hundreds and thousands of changes in climate, both small and large... it is a natural pattern of the world. However!

We may well be in a time of Global Warming as a matter of course, however, the human population is making it worse, and making it happen faster than ever before. Even small changes in temperature can cause mass extinctions, and some scientists say we have had a 3 degree change in the last 50 years - enough for mass extinction in fact.

We are in serious trouble of destroying our planet not just for our planetary cohabitants, but for ourselves. There is an argument that since we evolved from this planet, anything we do is therefore natural, and the other animals must adapt to us, and not the other way round - I do not subscribe to this since we evolved more advanced thought processes.

Oh ofcourse. There is no doubt that climate changes have occurred many times in the past, e.g when the ice age struck, however what we are doing to the planet currently is only aggravating and accelerating climate change. While climate changes have occurred in past, they take quite a long time to happen, but the changes to climate we are seeing now is happening far too rapidly to be only the cause of nature.

Humans are in the unique position of being either the saviours or destroyers of the planet. Its still a choice most of the world has yet to make, but if they don't start making it soon, then destruction is where we will end up.

The problem with the human evolvment is that we introduced the synthetic factor. We've created tons of material (plastic, electronics, chemicals, nuclear, erc.), which nature can't break down in time to recover, ultimately doing harm to it causing a global change in climate as well as fertility.

In other words, the human race is tampering with the natural abuse in such an unnatural way, if we keep going, we'll have to create a future that includes synthetic components that can make up for the ones we've destroyed.

Recently, I read that since the 1960s, the world population doubled. Soon enough we're about to pass the 7 billion mark, which compared to the 1 billion about a hundred years ago is proof enough that we're doing it wrong. We just cannot keep up feeding, entertaining and accommodating every single person in the same way without changing mother earth in such a drastic way.

We need alternative energy that doesn't tamper with nature or soon it'll be the virtual reality for us permanently.

Like I said, I do not follow that suggestion that what we do is natural. However, we may destroy the planet as we know it and cause mass extinction, the planet will recover without our help or even presence.
