NEWS: Burglar. Drunk on the Job.

A 63-year-old Long Neck, Del. woman woke up Tuesday morning to find a burglar sleeping on her couch, police say.

The woman woke up at 7 a.m. to find her front door open and a man — who had drunk multiple cans of her beer — snoozing, police say.

The burglar woke up and ran out of the house with a beer still in his hand after the woman told him she was calling the police.

Upon arrival, state troopers found that the man had cut a screen on the woman’s porch to get into the house.

While canvassing the neighborhood, police saw a man matching the victim’s description of the burglar walking along School Lane and still drinking a beer.

Bradley M. Furchak of Millsboro, Del. was arrested on charges of burglary, theft, drug possession, criminal mischief and drunk on the highway. He is being held at Sussex Correctional on $2,250 secured bond.
