@War: Oooh, I haven't played that game in centuries. I presume you've got a neat bodyguard there. I would always have wolves and a wraith with me to even the scores.
I'm currently playing King's Bounty: The Legend. I never finished it before and I intend to play the expansions and sequel as well.

Lately, I've been considering buying a wii.
Yes I am aware the new nintendo console has been announced, but it wouldn't be for proper games. I just want one for silly games that don't require any thought like super mario and Super Smash bros. Plus with the announcement of the new nintendo console, they'll be cheap as chips soon.

I bought a Wii just for the virtual console. It was hella worth it. For the money I spent on Wii points for multiple games, I could buy ONE game for the PS3 / Xbox.
Phantasy Star IV
Contra III
Super Mario 64
Ogre Battle 64
Secret of Mana
Super Mario RPG
I also got World of Goo (Wii Ware)

I want to punch a baby, stab it, drown it, burn it and stomp on its ashes until I pass out from exhaustion.
A full hour of leveling up, buying and rearranging troops and wandering across the world all went out the window just because a bug stopped the battle and froze the game.
AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

King's Bounty: The Legend
I now remember why I never finished that game. There's a boss that's nearly impossible to beat and it's not even at the end of the game.
Just trying to get the right troops together to defeat him is a challenge alone.

@Andeavor: Oh dear that really sucks, especially when its such a big chunk that goes like that. I have a love hate relationship games with impossible bosses like that, I hate them when trying to get past it, but when you do, its such a good feeling!
@Remi: Get a wii!! It's alot of fun, as its more inclusive than other consoles, good for playing with friends. Its also handy for other stuff, like watching TV and exercise. PLUS there are a few 'serious' games for it too, a few FPS and obviously my favourite; MH3. When they are cheap, Id consider it a worthy investment.
@WP: Saw that world of goo on the wii ware, looked interesting but didnt really consider looking at it. Is it any good? What exactly do you do with it?

Re: Discuss Gaming here
@WP, yeah, the price of games is a big incentive as well.
@Yar, thats why I want to get one, they get you more involved than the other consoles.
The one thing I think wiis managed to do better than the other consoles are make games with lots of replay value. While there are more "serious" games on the other consoles, most of them, you play through once or twice, play the multiplayer for a bit, then your done with it. Most games that I've played on the wii are ones you could keeping playing over and over without getting bored of them quickly.
Better price and longer playing time.
They are already pretty cheap here, but once the new Nintendo is announced, I'll bet they will shoot down even cheaper.

Never played left4dead 1 or 2, but I've heard good things about it, and considering Valve made it, its probably awesome.

While over at one of the residential apartments at the uni today, I played Guitar Hero.

It is a physics based puzzle game where you build structures using balls of goo. Your objective is to build your structure as you see fit until you reach a pipe that is located somewhere in the level.
Here's an idea
As you advance the levels, things get tricky. You have to look at your environment as well as the number of goo balls you have at your disposal. This is where you the let engineer in you shine.

I actually majorly prefer Netflix to blockbuster.
We waited like 3 months for Season 2 of Doctor Who but it was still on long wait. We switched to Netflix and it was shipped like the next day.

There is still a blockbuster down the street from here, I believe, though the days of movie/games rent stores is over thanks to netflix and other online services.
@Andy, when ever I lose my passions for playing games I play a game that I feel is timeless. For me, playing a game like Jade empire or age of empires always helps me get back in the mood of playing games.

Re: Discuss Gaming here
Started picking up Borderlands again, though I just bought Portal 2 and L.A. Noire with some money I scraped together.
So far, L.A. Noire is amazing, as is Portal 2. The Pacing in both games is phenomenal, though the former may seem slow at some points.
Waiting now for RAGE.

Re: Discuss Gaming here
I just watched the teaser trailer for the new Tomb Raider (reboot) game. So far, I'm positively intrigued by the new gameplay. Lara, fresh from the academy at age 21, is shipwrecked off the coast of Japan and has to build up her skills and gather makeshift weapons throughout her 'first' adventure on a dangerous island.
However, I'm severely disappointed by the new voice of hers. It's a new actress who sounds like an American doing an English accent rendering the most dramatic revelation about survival. I don't know much about the voice history of Lara Croft but even I found Angelina Jolie gave a better vocal performance in the films.

Looks fun, I might download it for the wii. Reminds me a little of those old flash type physics games, like where you draw shapes to get objects to go where you want ect ect.
Theres 'And yet it moves' for wii as well, which is fun. The demo kept me entertained for a while. Basicly uou are a little person and you have to use the wiimote to tilt the whole world around you so you can navigate the map without falling or hitting obstacles. Simple but addicting.
Also, blockbusters is closing? Must just be in America I guess, because the Blockbuster in my town is doing okay, or apparantly it is.

@Andy. looks like it might be interesting, though I agree, the British accent is very put on and doesn't sound genuine.
=======================================================
Yesterday me and my brother figured out that since age of empires 2 only requires you to install the game on the computer and you don't need to use the cd, we could both install it and battle each other.
I thought I sucked a Age of Empires. He didn't even put up a decent match. Which is sadder for him as he plays 10 times as many video games as I do.
But now he is determined for a rematch, saying he has "strategies" to beat me.

Re: Discuss Gaming here
LittleBig Planet and InFamous are not impressing me wildly on gameplay at this point. perhaps a bit more play will enlighten me more.
Re: Discuss Gaming here
Infamous is downloading as I speak. I think I'll get the PS + instead of another game because I am not interested in any of them. I'd rather have free avatars, themes, wallpapers, etc.

InFamous is growing on me, not tried LBP again, yet.
PS + is free for 30 days, then unless you join properly, it ends. I downloaded Burnout: Paradise City and that is an awesome game. Gonna be sad when I can no longer play it because I am not a full plus member - mighyt have to pay for it

Re: Discuss Gaming here
I really want to get LBP2. I liked the first one, and I think 2 will be way better.
I've been playing World of Warcraft a lot. Other games that I recently got are: Terraria, all of the Prince of Persia games, Darkspore, and Portal. I think there are a few other games, but I can't remember. I haven't played any of these though.
