Hmm, I don't know.

I need a bunch of Lagiacrus horns for weapons and such. What weapon do you suggest? I'm pretty adept with all but SA and LS.

I have my uncle and his family in my house for two weeks, so it looks like the new SocialDissonance podcast is going to have to wait. Sad
They want me to go outside, and the entire time I can hear Krystian and Shepard and Nick mocking me from the PC.

Although, I did get to show my cousin Monster Hunter today. LOL
I fought a Rathian for him, and he's sitting there dumbfounded XD

XD that's funny, I love showing people MH, although most of them are too scared to actually try and play it Laughing However, me and my little brother (He's 6) did take down a Great Jaggi together in the arena... hehee.

Aww no podcast Sad Well that just means more to watch later! That can't be a bad thing! I have lots to catch up on actually, I missed the last 2 :O

---

Right, when you say a bunch of lagi horns, do you mean what weapon to make with them or what weapon to use?

If its to make, the short answer is whatever you are most comfortable with Smile

If you are on about obtaining them, its a little down to whatever you are comfortable with, but more down to how accurate the weapon is. I usually make a load of bounce bombs and bounce bomb plus and race to area 10 so I meet him as he swims out of 11. I then just rapid fire launch them at his face XD

It should be enough to make him flinch, where you can get more freehits, yay! But after that, Id say use somthing with a good range. Id stay away from LS because of all the repositioning it does when you are underwater.

SwAx is good because it does the overhead chop, so you can stay safeish while still hitting the horns. Personally, when horn farming, I use either a SnS (I know, underwater... but its accurate for me) or a lance to poke at his face.

I think the thing that would help the most would be just trap spamming and bombing his horns at every opportuinity as they are quite a small and always moving area.

Good luck with the horns Smile

Okay, I meant trying to get them.

The weapons I'll make are probably the SnS and Lance.

Kevin and LS? This I must see Very Happy

Oh yeah, SJ, if you are making the Lagi SnS, don't do what I did and go for the 'easier' route (I think its the one that has a choice of Red and blue) that weapon sucks opposed to the slightly harder to make weapon, which leads to the talkimazuchi thingy a whatsit. I think its the Lagia sword.

Basicly, just go check in the wiki first. I went the 'easy' route to begin with and wasted alot of materials, resulting in alot of FUUU.

I've been trying out the GS lately.
I'm getting better with it, and I sort of am starting to like it, but I'm not adept enough with it to fight a Lagiacrus. Maybe I'll try a Rathian first.

In other news, Hammer is in my opinion the worst underwater weapon. At least in Area 10 of the D. Island. Lagi moves so fast you can't land a single hit, let alone on his face. At least with SnS you have fast hits.

Hammer has too much momentum underwater in my opinion. its great out of water, but in it nu uh. People bad mouth the SnS for its unerwater capabilities but at least you are mobile XD

Oh, and thanks so much for the bounce bomb strategy XD
that was hilarious, he flinched like 8 times Laughing
I hate when you set a trap and are going to blow up their face, and they attack you before getting stuck in it, so you can't set your bombs or anything. Mad
It always seems like Lagiacrus takes FOREVER to get out of a pitfall trap. I could've bombed him like 3 more times if I had more bombs...

Lagiacrus refuses to give me any horns. I only need 4 D:
I don't know why people say hammer is good against lagi. It's not. >__>

Hee hee
I got my cousin to play MH with me today. We fought an arena Jaggi and a Qurupeco. We attempted a Barroth, but we got crushed lol XD

Btw, is the Thunderclap LS any good? I can make it, and it seems alright.

@Kevin: Awww, but... but... I wanted to see awesomeness with the LS too... Laughing Hehe against ceadeus I just use the undertaker lance. Deals very quickly, although when I get the alatreon one, it'll be done even quicker.

@Sjhorm: You know the only arena monster I haven't done yet is Barroth... He's hard in the arena XD

And yes. Get the thunderclap. It upgrades to a very nice weapon and you'll find it invaluable against ceadeus and the ians. If you are thinking of using LS seriously you'll need one of these Very Happy

Los comes a very close second to bari for me Very Happy Just the fast paced fight of barioth is more fun for me.

Being cocky is my biggest downfall too. So many times I have died by just pushing it too far.

Okay, so Los armor is good to get, but what about Bari? Skills look okay, but I'm never sure
I'm trying to decide whether to do the Djinn sword, the Wyvern Fire Long Sword, or my Acrus Lance.

So many choices. Sad

Bari is basicly the cold version of Los armour. If you like to run around and dodge/evade alot its good. Its not as good as aggy for lancing though. Its quite situational, ie cold.

If you collect it you can mix it in HR to make some good combos. I would invest in the bari weapons first though, because they are alot more useful.

Hm, with the wyvern fire. I would avoid being too eager to get that first. Its in no way better than the others. In the lance or sword thing though, they are equally useful. If you use SnS alot you will need that djinn as soon as poss, its a staple.

With the lance, arcus kicks tail. But you will find better alternatives for thunder in the lance department pretty soon. So if you lance alot its worth investing in, but if not then get the SnS.

Well, I already have the Acrus Lance, and I just need to work on getting enough Los parts for the Djinn.
I'll have to try Bari with both weapons and see which is easier, although I'm better with Lance.

The Djiin is a great weapon and one of the most useful in my opinion. You'll probably find the Bari armour to be more helpful with SnS, because you arent running around too much with the lance and the bari armour is focused on running around really Razz

So, I'm thinking of using the Ingot armor I've been using for Bari, but I'm not sure. It would provide me with Wind Res, which would be nice, and I'll get a slight Res to Ice if I gem it up a little bit.

That could work I think. (I'm just so indecisive, I have to get others opinions Unsure)
