Tyranno, shouldn't your friends and you be in the backyard climbing on treehouses and pretending to be pirates? How times have changed...

On the topic of selling games I have one thing to say. I ABSOLUTELY SPORING REGRET HAVING *GIVEN AWAY* MY SUPER NINTENDO AND ALL THE 40 SNES GAMES I OWNED!!! Brick Wall

Keep the games unless you're 100% sure you are not going to enjoy a later play-through. And when you play L.A. Noire, let us know what it's like, I've yet to get it myself.

I'm so behind with games these days, and I've not started my new LP since I got my new headset. Unsure

I took a little re run through all the Halo games over the past week. I must say that it all only makes me curious as to what Halo 4 will be about. It worry's me a bit though. The teaser for Halo 4 got a lot of people ticked. So I am not sure about it really. The whole concept is starting to get old.

But none of that matters, Halo 1 remake will be good anyways. I am very exited for that.

L.A. Noire is a good game from what I've played. In each case you gather clues that you find in the crime scene and you also gather locations for more clues. You use the clues that raise questions to question witnesses, relatives etc. and you have to decide whether they are lying or telling the truth by their facial expressions. If they are lying, you need to present proof. If you think they are lying but have no proof, you should doubt; that forces answers out of them.

The driving is less difficult to control than in GTA, and Citizens are really hard to hit, since they somehow dodge like ninjas! The destructible parts of the city such as poles and benches are slightly more resilient too. Causing harm to citizens and the city really lowers your case rating after finishing a case, and the game discourages you to do harm.

Occasionally if in a police car, a dispatch will appear and you can respond to a crime that is currently being committed. This may involve chasing the criminal and fighting them, a gang war, random gun war, robbery etc. and there are overall 40 of these.

You also unlock outfits that you can wear and intuition that removes an incorrect answer to a witness' answer if you are really stumped on whether they are lying or if you don't know what proof you have of lying. That's pretty much all I have to say. If you want to know more, search online for more info. I don't have much info.

I'm not really sure, LoD, running over the people that pay your taxes seems mean. But I guess it's because I am as good a driver as an eagle is at piloting a blimp.

I dunno, I've seen a Vulture pilot a blimp really well, maybe an Eagle could as well Unsure

Seriously though, when it comes to driving it very much depends on the game. Burnout: Paradise City is good for driving, GT5 is amazing for it, but punishes every mistake and most F1 games are the same. Grand Theft Auto has a very simple driving logic built in, I dunno about LA Noire though.

Anyone else here play GT5? Been playin' for a while now, but my skills could still probably use some work... especially in machines like my Peugeot 908 racer, my Formula GT or my X2010. Absolutely insane speed.

As you may have guessed, I do. I just got a Bugatti Veyron and a McLaren MP4-12C. I am not bothered by the Red Bull, but have a lot of experience with my FGT. I haven't got a Peugot Racer, but do have a Citroen Concept Car.

On a side note, I bought a Renault Avantine so that i could modify it to be better than my Mitsubishi Evo - which Top Gear fans may know as a Top Gear challenge of sorts. I still need to find 4 seconds on the Rome circuit, from somewhere Mad

I've been tinkering around with a tuned Ferrari Enzo. Plenty of power and really low weight, but it's till a pig to drive, primarily due to its lack of downforce. What downforce you can give it makes it understeer like a pig, but without it you just can't get on the throttle well enough. Plus, the spoiler just doesn't look good in my opinion.

Well, enough pointless rambling from me.

I stopped playing GT5 a long while ago. With games like Motorstorm, Blur and other mindless racers, I think I've grown out of the simulation 'car porn' style racers.

In other news, I dig Playstation Plus. Not only did I DL all the free dynamic themes but I was able to get Chime (puzzle game) for $4.87. What that means is that I was able to use my $20 points card free and clear (bought Plants vs. Zombies as well). I was worried I would have to set up a credit card account with PSN to pay the difference. Didn't want to.

I am still annoyed on F1 2010, I can do amazing laps, but I can never do more than 2 in a row, then I struggle for about 5.

I only potter with GT5 now.

Oh, and continuing on the "car porn" theme, I'm also currently downloading NFS "Shift 2 Unleashed." Will report on it later. Probably tomorrow with my internet Razz

Gah!

Catalunya Circuit on F1 2010 really annoys me. I qualified 17th, but was penalised twice 5 places after spinning in the penultimate corner, causing a crash. During the race I spin at every possible location, but especially the penultimate corner. I in fact got so scared of actually taking the racing line I increased my lap times by 3 seconds a lap... that is not a good thing.

I only ever spun when on the racing line, I'm sure of it.

I came 3rd, 2nd and 1st in the preceding 3 races, but 24th at Catalunya scratch

What sort of controller you use Vek? Proper throttle modulation is very hard if you're using a regular controller.

I only have normal controllers. Annoyingly.

Just tried Flower, a spectacular looking piece of serene software, but ultimately, boring and pointless.

If you're really into the racing-type games, you really should get yourself a good steering wheel, especially one with force feedback. You'll have just that much better a sense of what's going on, and your ability to control the throttle with be a helluva lot better than with a controller.

I got a Logitech Driving Force GT for Christmas, and I haven't used a controller for a sim racer since.

I'm thinking about getting From Dust when it comes out. Does anyone have it on Xbox? It looks amazing, but I want to hear from someone who has it.

It reminds me of the early trailers of Spore, in a way. Not quite as creative-centered, but still neat.

Yeah, and I heard the controls were a little finicky on Xbox, due to the lack of precise control, but that's no problem with a mouse.

That game seems interesting, although it concerns me a little because it almost seems like it could get boring fast. I don't know much about it but that's the impression I get.

Still, it's like a whole new Spore world creator/editor. Razz

If you ask me, a game like From Dust would be a lot better if you could just stick around in one space and nurture your world to perfection, rather than having to progress from level to level. It would probably give the game a fair bit more replay value, and would allow for the players to see what they can come up with using that fancy physics engine.

Still, I haven't actually played the game myself, so I could be completely wrong about this.
