Yay
I iz playing Monster Hunter

Hey, once in a while when I go to carve a monster, it won't let me and I'll look like a doofus randomly whipping out my sword and attacking invisible enemies. >__>
Why won't it let me carve them sometimes?

Wooo! Thats awesome Very Happy How are you finding it?

Ummm, have you sheathed your weapon? With the SnS you can somtimes think you can carve, but you just attack if your wapon is out. Also, if you are holding the wii mote at an angle upwards and press A you do the unsheath jump attack thingie, try just wiggling the chuck when your weapon is sheathed instead.

Occassionally if you've left it too long it won't let you carve either, as the monster despawns, but usually you just find 'nothing'

Another tip, is for quick gathering, crouch before. It cancels the standing animation and makes gathering/carving quicker, useful for when you get to large monsters *coughJhenMohrancough*

It's great so far. Smile

Yeah, I had the Wiimote angled when I was trying to gather, it was messing me up.
I'm still trying to get used to the weapon controls. I'm really bad with Greatswords. >_>
I got a lance though, and I do pretty well with it.
Thanks for the tip.

Maybe the Lance or GS.

EDIT: Can't capture the Great Jaggi. -_- I feel so laaaaaame

Haha, kevin, its because the character spacing is different in the profile and on forums ^^ Oh and lots and lots of luck for your exams Very Happy Just remember the answer to a+b +(2a) is not Lagiacrus.

Horm: I messed up so much with the wiimote, I still do somtimes, hitting people when they are trying to carve... lol. I'm awful with the GS too, kevin is amazing with it though.

I used SnS all the way to high rank, its a nifty weapon but the low raw damage it does means you need to be on the monster most of the time or use traps and stuff to help you. It gets better when you get to elemental SnS, which you must match to the monster, or SnS just isnt worth it. I use lance a little now too, its a fun all rounder weapon.

Congrats on the G.Jaggi! They are so scary when you first go up against them, but later on you'll just be like 'ha a G.Jaggi, *atchoo*, oh, it died.' The trick is just to learn its patterns, once you have them down, its not so bad.

Capturing him is a little tricky, because he is ready when his life is under 40% but that can go down very quickly if you arent cautious, he won't limp untill he's got about 23% of life left either . Generally, just wait untill he limps off to area 6 in moga or area 5 in the sandy plains. If you wait about 10-15 seconds, he'll be asleep and you can place the trap next to him before kicking him awake and tranqing him ^^

Im sure you'll be fine Kevin ^^ Its always nerve wracking waiting for the results though.

Oh yeah, another thing I thought about, Horm, is the capture Guru skill. I think its on the Hunters armour, a fairly easy armour to obtain (I think you might even be able to buy it). If you paintball a monster, with that skill the dot blinks on the map when its ready to cap.

Might be useful to help you spot when there is weakness. Its a really helpful skill Smile

Wooo! Congrats again, you're really shifting through those quests Very Happy

Jaggi armour is great for when you get to Gobul. God, I hate that thing...

I tried to collect all the LR armours so I used a fair few, it went somthing like, leather, Jaggi, Ludroth, nox for a very short while then I used Ingot for ages then I used mainly Los and finally Barioth was my favourite.

Now Im HR I used Peco+ for ever and finally got my custom Los+ which kicks monster butt.

Yeah, I had full chainmail, but I'm trying to get a full Jaggi set, as it has way more defense.
Only downside is that the fire is really low.

Yeah it does have horrible fire res XD but if I remember rightly, by the time you need fire res, you'll have better sets anyway.

Kevin, you playing again? Whoo! I won't be on for like, another week, but will be good to get on there and play again... even if I am a bit rusty...

Some of the male armours are odd... like the ingot armour for guys. The Rheno stuff makes me lawl, if you actually wore that your evade would be up 200%, you'd just roll away with every hit. Im also dissapointed the cat ear helmet for girls is a gunner set and not a blade set Sad

What's your favourite armour looks wise?

Yeah, rathalos is one of my favourites. The colours on Lagi are nice too. I really like the barioth set and I love the Alatreon set because of its purpleness xD

The worst looking for me is probably Ludroth and Rheno. Rheno should have been a cool brown scaly armour, maybe with those rheno scalp shapes as the helm. Not pink and round like a sword wielding mr blobby!

Oo, I'll try to get some time then, lately Ive been getting back at 6-6.30 ish and by the time Im finished with everything ive got to do, its bedtime or someone is using the TV -_-
