I think I'm going to try and obtain the full Barroth armor. It has higher defense than mine now and it looks so much awesomer. Razz
It will also allow me to kick that Gobul's spiky behind.
Now to take on about a bajillion Barroths. >_<

@ shard and Kevin: haha, wondered why you guys weren't around Razz Its okay though, I found a very good team and did tonnes of barroths, a Lagi, a few double troubles and some Jhen. It was really fun, they were really nice. We will meet up at some point soon Im sure Very Happy

@Horm: Aghh! That is so annoying, you will get used to when they are about to go, but somtimes they still get away... Its good to have a trap tool and materials just in case.

Also, barroth armour is a go Very Happy Its skills are pretty decent too (I just dislike the female version...) its a superb hammering set as well.

I have Rheno now, despite it's unattractiveness.
I might go for the Baggi armor just for defense until I can get the Barroth. >_>

And hey, can someone explain high rank to me? Is it only online? Online says I'm HR 1 right now. (impressive, right?)

Well, HR is online only, it's when you hit Hunter Rank 31. Basicly, you get the same monsters, but they have higher attack and health and they are in more challenging quests (more double monsters and so on). There is also the added threat of the Jho appearing.

In highrank you can start to collect HR materials, such as + items. This helps with all the weaponary upgrades. You can also use the materials to forge High rank or + versions of the armours, which give you more defence, slots and different skills. You can also use the + materials to upgrade and 'overforge' low rank armours, giving the same defence as their High rank partners but you keep the low rank skills (this is somtimes better).

So basicly its just an online portion that allows you to gather better materials that you can't get offline. The first few quests can be a little boring (kelbi horns -_- ) but once you're through, its awesome.

EDIT:

Oh, shard didnt see the thing about uragaan and bombs until now xD well if you haven't already done it... I usually bring pitfall trap and mats for another and use that to bomb his chin with LBB and LBB+ if you have mats to make more, go crazy. If not, its not really a problem. I then use a shock trap to hold him still while I go for the tail, if I want to kill him. If Im capping I use shocks all the time, untill he's ready and then pitfall him, so his resistance isnt up for the trap.

I also use bounce bombs when Im under him, to hit the tail usually. Placing a BB by him when he's doing the super fart thing is fun, but a little suicidal too Very Happy

Yup. The quests give you points, you can lose some too by carting on quests. If you fail a quest but didnt cart once, you won't lose points. Event quests give more points as do urgents.

There are several landmark ranks, 9, 18, 31, 51 and they each have an urgent. You will gain points but stop increasing rank if you don't do the urgent, which will stop you from taking some higher quests. Just like offline, you have to do some key quests before urgents will appear and you have to post the urgent otherwise it won't accept that you've done it, unlike regular online quests.

My new favorite monster to fight is the Great Baggi.
On a related note, I also love barrel bombs.
I love that evil feeling of waiting till it falls asleep then placing barrel bombs right next to it's face. >: D

Ahhhhh
Gigginox are scary! It appeared in the middle of a Baggi fight! D:
Then it killed me

@Kevin: Aww, missed you, so sorry but I was really busy the other night Sad Hope you weren't waiting for us!

@Horm: Baggi is fun, especially when you are all sleepy. And yes, barrel bombs are insanely fun, when you get High rank armour you can place and kick in the middle of the fight, which is suicidal but alot of fun.

Its also funny to put a pit or shock trap by the snoozing monster and kick them awake only to see them fall asleep in your trap again >:-D

Laughing Gigginox,

She is possibly the ugliest, wierdest thing I ever saw. Bad luck it turned up on you like that though. I hate when it screams, you never know which end is which. The armour is funny too, you look like an old school vampire Razz

Urm, I wouldn't stick around for me Razz I'm not back till 6 ish and I doubt I'll get on there near that time, so will be late. I think tomorrow is probably a better day or the day after, whatever you're good with Smile

Congratulations on the time, thats pretty awesome, considering that means an average of 2 mins for each rath. Shocked

@Horm:

Its tricky to fight, because it can disorientate you with its freaky body, not to mention all its gross habits.

Im sure you'll be fine with Lagi Very Happy Its just like an overpowered royal ludroth really!

Okay good.
I find myself buying barrel bombs+ from the online instead of making them. >__> It's a little more convenient, I think.

In other news, this is my most favorite monster hunter video ever.

SocialDissonance is awesome lol

I love his little whimpers during the fight. Razz

Lol, social dissonance. His fear of the Baggi is so funny. I love all his videos, especially his podcast ones.

Whoo, arena times! Although i think you need to have a good bud to do them with in any decent time... Don't worry sjhorm you'll fund some buds to play with, Im sure Smile Its good you've persuaded some friends to get it too!

I did alot of the online alone or with randoms because I didnt know very many people. Kevin and shard helped alot though and its always fun playing with them.

Oh and Kevin... Ala's not even up for me yet, I still have to do HR Nox it turns out. Fun fun fun. Also I still need barioth claws and probably some los parts for decorations... but Im pretty sure that'll be done tonight when I go on Smile

Baggi is a fairly decent set, although Id be careful with your advanced armour spheres, they can be really frustrating to farm somtimes. Baggi armour is awesome for tundra hunting though Very Happy

Well the other day I went on and didnt see kevin Sad Lol, but I did a few random quests, one of which I tried lancing HR diablos. Me and the other guy were doing really well, we had the horns broke (counters FTW!) the tail cut and he was getting tired. The 3rd guy decided to run off and end via sub, without saying anything -_-

Then yesterday I tried to get online, but it kept kicking me as soon as I got in a city! I guess it is holidays so servers are probably busier than usual, but it was so annoying. I did a few money making quests offline instead, practicing with the lance.

Lol, that's fine, I hope the movie was good Very Happy and the footie! Like I said, it was kicking me off alot anyway so wouldn't really have worked!

I really love the lance now, I use it more often than the SnS. I kinda want to take on Ala with it, considering I'll have 85% Affinity boost. Still gotta get those claws though, why is it no one likes fighting barioth!?
