Minecraft Server Help

Allright, I was wondering whether or not to make this thread or not. So I went ahead and made it anyway.

So I've been trying for the past 3 hours to create a Minecraft server (On my mac) for my brother and I to play on. I thought this would be easy. Oh how I was wrong. I can't figure it out and if someone could help, that would be greatly appreciated.

Ah, it's tricky, isn't it? Well first things first, you will need to buy an account and need the password to your internet router. If you have neither, scrap it up now.

I'll ask a couple friends for a quick tut on how they do it. They taught me through it via voice on vent, so I can't recall everything they said.

I have an account and I'm trying to do the Port Forwarding bit. The only problem is, I don't know how to log into it.

Where you put your IP address into the URL bar and press enter. Then it brings me up to a Verizon wireless page (Out internet service provider) but I don't know how to log in. I think that might be the only issue I'm having cause it shows I've put all the commands and stuff in right, it just won't take my IP when I go to access it.

Ah. That could be it, then. You'll need to know how to log in, which I suspect only your parent(s) would know. And I'm a bit hazy on the port forwarding part, too >_<

Its tricky.

We flipped through like a million log ins and couldn't find the right one. D: So I guess we're going to have to contact Verizon or something.

It helps most if you have a D-Link router. It will be less confusing for you since you have a mac. This helped me make mine after trying to make a server from paulsoaresjr's tutorial.
