Minecraft Servers

I think we need to set up a fullscale battle arena somewhere. I mean there should be factions, PvP. It could be used for other things too. Like Capture the Flag and other team based games. Of course we'd have to set some rules.

Like for Capture the Flag, assuming you we use flowers for the flags, the person with the flower must hold it at all times they have it.

Or maybe we hold a Spleef tournament :O

We could do all of that. Of course a spleef arena would have to be build somewhere else because it would look strange in a battlefield.

Noo, Remy's server is down D: And 'cuz he's gone, he won't be able to fix it until he gets back.

Well he can still long into the server from where he is can't he? Maybe he'll be able to fix it.

I think the server's outright crashed, so it would probably need a restart. I dunno though.

I have a feeling the computer has shut down becuase it can't even connect to the server. When there is crash it usually comes up with a Java Socket connection error not a server connect error.

I hope that's not the case. In all other cases Remy can restart it from the console. Unfortunatly me and Omni can't restart it without logging in... frustration

Guess we will just have to wait this one out. I'm concerned as to what has caused it.

On the PvP thing. We can set up an area where PvP is allowed and all that sort of thing by using region flags. We can even set up a message that tells people they have entered the area and the rules, all through World Guard. Saves adding another plug in. I think its best to run it by Remy first though.

I think a giant colleseum or somthing of that nature would be cool for things like that, it'd be fun to get a few of us working on it.

Turtle/LoD is working on a spleef arena and I said I'd look into somthing that would regenerate it, other than World Edit which is scary at best and not to mention server overloading.

All these plans, we just need the server now...

I say rather than use fancy programming, that you use a cobble generator and hand out all the Spleef contestants pickaxes

Well they have spleef arena plugins that let you designate spleef arena. It even has an arena reset function.

In other news I'm sitting in Manchester (New Hampshire) Airport at the moment and should be home soon. Soon being like 12 hours.

Looks like a plugin is the best option for that. I dunno, depends on Remy really lol. Although I like the idea of a cobble generator

I use the War plugin for both of those.

Trickatel and myself have half-built a Colosseum on my private server, so I could help and maybe Trick also ^^ It's huge, about 80-100 blocks in diameter and a good 20 or so high maybe even more. The middle ring is done, but I have no idea how we would transfer it from one server to another, unless Remy loaded both maps at once and used WE to copy it.

YES! I love Voxel. Its a bit complicated at first, but once you get the hang of it it works amazing.

Like it says though i wouldn't recommend going over a size 10 brush.

I have the Voxel modpack now Flying, TMI and loads of others all in MP and SP.


Remy, can you enable flying so I can use my Voxel fly-mod?

@Marky: Wow sounds awesome. I think it'd be nice to get everyone building it though, although we could do with you architecture skills! Also, too many plugins makes for an unhappy server. But it does look awesome, like world edit but more beefy. I'll stick to WE for now though

However, Modpack is a go I loves it. So thanks to you and SJ I'm now running around at 4x the speed I should and not using it makes me feel slow.

The worldedit mod is a god send. I can see the area that I am editing now, rather than trying to imagine, so I can avoid any horrific mistakes easily.

I didn't install TMI or the bettergrass. I can spawn what I likes anyways so felt a bit redundant and when I go SP I like to try and play legit. Well, apart from the flying and running of course.

SJ, did you overwrite the config files on installation? It's an option on what to install, and it's required for new users
